View Full Version : Most Respected Rappa
Dopeman 09-18-2005, 04:32 PM Tuff 1 i think
i think people are respected for different reasons and in different ways.
i thought i'd put 50 in for a joke
if anyone votes him i'm gonna be pissed
..¿.. 09-18-2005, 05:00 PM most respected here or worldwide...
prankster198 09-18-2005, 05:09 PM Definitely Jay-Z, No Doubt.
Dopeman 09-18-2005, 05:12 PM in my opinion biggie is better than pac so i don't see how people can put pac over him,
everyone has their own opinion though.
¿WooT¿ 09-18-2005, 05:13 PM tupac becasue everyone likes him and if they dont they're obvouisly dumb and retarded
prankster198 09-18-2005, 05:14 PM ^^ yo fool, its not about who is better its about who is more respected i think canibus and az and shit loads of rappers r better than jay-z but they hardly respected. Difference In The Two Things
prankster198 09-18-2005, 05:17 PM me and woot posted at the same time i was refering to dopman's post. but woot still u said every1 LIKES him. I like eminem but as he sung about his mum taking drugs and then recently got addicted 2 sleeping tablets i dont respect him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
..¿.. 09-18-2005, 05:24 PM if you asked like 80% of the rappers who they would bring back it would be pac... hes the rap elvis everyone likes him and he wont die
Blazе 09-18-2005, 06:45 PM 'Pac of course. Everyone respects him. At least all Hip-Hop fans.
Laking 86er 09-18-2005, 10:57 PM yeah agreed ^^
R!$k0 09-18-2005, 11:13 PM I agree with dopeman, people are respected for different things. Most people would say big and pac, mainly cos they were quality and their deaths have now made them untouchable, eminem cos of his worldwide success. 50 cent? lol, well his sales...lol. you could make a point for all of those mentioned, but for me most respected rapper, not my favourite, but the most respected rapper is pac.
..¿.. 09-19-2005, 03:21 AM lol somone voted for 50
DIJINN 09-19-2005, 08:13 AM Scarface is the most respected rapper but on this list i said 2pac
-B- The Ol G 09-19-2005, 10:59 AM where's snoop ya'll know that he is the most respected rapper in the game how many people's got beef wid him??? part from suge knight the uncle phil lookalike off fresh prince!!
Dirty Frank 09-19-2005, 11:43 AM I put 50 Cent to piss you off...
Dopeman 09-19-2005, 12:01 PM i'm not pissed off i just think ur an idiot for putting him
the whole point of shit like this is to tell the truth, not to piss people off
RETARD!
Dirty Frank 09-19-2005, 01:29 PM Awww...
It seems like I pissed you off... :o
Dopeman 09-19-2005, 03:28 PM ya think??
Dopeman 09-19-2005, 03:32 PM yeh prankster i admit i was wrong, it was a bit off the subject, i suppose pac's got more respect coz he was aroung for longer and kept puttin out quality albums speakin about the truth. I just like biggie better.
Mileskblair 09-19-2005, 03:49 PM 2pac is the most respected of all time, but living right now it's probaly Nas or Kiss, if you like rap they have to be at the top of your list.
C-Kret-C 09-19-2005, 04:13 PM yea but if you brough pac back he wouldent like what he would see a lot of violence on the east but i respect biggie the most
Dopeman 09-19-2005, 04:17 PM Nas has consistently put out real respectable albums
Kiss has great lyrical talent, one of the best ever but the subject matta isn't so good.
'Pac of course. Everyone respects him. At least all Hip-Hop fans.
actually i know some different music fans that respect pac..and i was stunned to see that...by different music i mean harcore rock and shit...heavy metal and so on.....but thats a good thing it goes to show that people can see past and image and look into emotions and imagery...
Dopeman 09-19-2005, 04:38 PM ^^ agree - pac was an inspiration on millions all over the world, different races, cultures, music interest, he was a legend. Every rappa respected him.
Blazе 09-19-2005, 06:57 PM actually i know some different music fans that respect pac..and i was stunned to see that...by different music i mean harcore rock and shit...heavy metal and so on.....but thats a good thing it goes to show that people can see past and image and look into emotions and imagery...
I agree that people that listen to other genres do respect Pac, but some say he sucks just because of their hate for rap music. I've seen that plenty of times, it's ignorant and pathetic... You don't see me hating on Kurt Cobain.
Halftime3 09-19-2005, 10:31 PM what about nas? i think nas tops everyone on that list.. maybe not on tupacs level but other than that nas owns
I agree that people that listen to other genres do respect Pac, but some say he sucks just because of their hate for rap music. I've seen that plenty of times, it's ignorant and pathetic... You don't see me hating on Kurt Cobain.
well yea ignorant and pathetic..but you have to listen to the music that you say sucks or is not good before you make a statement like that....at first i thought rock was whack..shit after i listened to it...i love great bands like iron maidedn GNR ozzy and shit...you have to be open minded about music
ladydrugs 09-20-2005, 12:47 AM 2pac Is The Most Respected Because He Is The Best Rappa And The Realest
Blazе 09-20-2005, 02:35 AM you have to be open minded about music
...And I am. I can't stand when people won't open their minds to other styles of music. I have a friend of mine who hated rap music before, listened to some Tupac and has been a fan ever since. You never know, you just might like something if you try it.
Da-Ridah 09-20-2005, 02:52 AM Pac and Jigga
...And I am. I can't stand when people won't open their minds to other styles of music. I have a friend of mine who hated rap music before, listened to some Tupac and has been a fan ever since. You never know, you just might like something if you try it.
haha same here...cept then he started listening to all this club shit and he was walking out on rap till i showed him some underground stuff and he came back on rap...after that shit...i showed him gangsta rap..he hooked on that shit...and whats funny if you saw him he looks like the rocker type..long hair tight pants and shirt..and he plays guitar. so like i'm gland i opened some mind on music but there is still lots people who need to realize there is part of music that aren't great as others but you cannot think that the whole genre of music is like that..
Arminius 09-20-2005, 12:37 PM Pac because outta all of Pac's shit I know he had 'atleast' one song that at some point in "everyones" life touched 'em or helped thru a tough time. Or maybe just spread some inspiration...
Halftime3 09-20-2005, 08:49 PM yea but i mean there r other rappers who inspire people who listen to them, its always pac and nas who get me motivated to do something
D^Coy 09-20-2005, 09:11 PM I'ma just flat out say Eminem, considering of all the people on that list, he's either produced a song for all of them and/or dropped a verse in one of their songs.
Oblivion 09-21-2005, 11:19 AM lmfao no Krs-one? WTF is 50 doing on there?
i'd say from that list, Pac
~h20~ 09-21-2005, 01:31 PM lol Rakim of all people aint there
lmfao 50 cent?...he's the most "disrespected" rapper
Oblivion 09-21-2005, 01:53 PM lol Rakim of all people aint there
wow might be a fool at times but well said. Rakim is tha man
Dopeman 09-21-2005, 04:45 PM i put 50 for a laff
i was goin for rappas who are known world wide, thats why rakim and krs aint on there. Loads aint heard of dem
Standard 09-21-2005, 11:56 PM Pac because outta all of Pac's shit I know he had 'atleast' one song that at some point in "everyones" life touched 'em or helped thru a tough time. Or maybe just spread some inspiration...
I agree, while there are plenty of very respected, very talented rappers, ide have to go with Tupac. The subject matter of his content was real, not the "ima gangsta on 24 inch rims and they spinnin!" bullshit... and I think most people can relate to his message, whether they are hip hop fans or not. Not to mention he was (and still is... from the grave) a progressive positive artist whos message was unity not segregation by force or choice.
~h20~ 09-22-2005, 01:01 PM wow might be a fool at times but well said. Rakim is tha man
Me a fool? how? without you i might be one
'Pac obviously.......
Since Nas and Jay butt heads..........people respect them 50/50.......
50 ...........is wack.
I respect jada myself but he isnt as "legendary" as Pac
B.I.G.? Ionno, I put all my attention on Pac
As for Eminem, he has done alot.....but he is too much of a girls "dream boy" to be respected in my case......He hasn't made the type of music to inspire other people.....besides other white people that try to act just like him. :(
Jay's carrer kinda fell off toward the end....causing some people to downside him.
Pac pertty much created the whole generation.
Cartel 09-22-2005, 02:56 PM jay fell off towards the end??? yeah... have you heard the black album..??? who the fuck are you??? fuck outta here kid
Esocra 09-22-2005, 06:21 PM 2 Pac the most respected MC, it just goes to show you how ass backwards this world is.
2 Pac was a fucking fake bitch. He should of stayed dancing for Digital Underground - he would of still been alive today instead of faking a gangster persona.
jay fell off towards the end??? yeah... have you heard the black album..??? who the fuck are you??? fuck outta here kid
uhhhhhhhhhhhh................shutup you stupid noob, you dont talk to me like that.
FYI: Yes I heard the fucking Black Album.............And Blueprint 2 and prior albums murdered it.
Da-Ridah 09-22-2005, 11:06 PM Kiss My Dick Good Bye You Fuckin Bitches
garciasgyrl06 03-20-2006, 03:21 PM yeah agreed ^^
Of course my baby 2 pac
CRUGER 03-20-2006, 03:52 PM im sick of everyboddy sucking tupacs dead willy
i voted 50 cent haha
BoneStarr 03-20-2006, 04:43 PM 2Pac is definatley the most respected rapper, no that he should be though
Bone24 03-20-2006, 07:13 PM jay fell off towards the end??? yeah... have you heard the black album..??? who the fuck are you??? fuck outta here kid
I regret ever buying that piece of trash.
Black Album < garbage
"you startin to look like bread" - Threat
"change clothes and go"
wtf
H_O_V 03-20-2006, 07:26 PM Its a tie between jay and big. All the niggas that said pac is so great think about it, most of the stupid east, west coast beef was caused over his shit. Big wasnt even hypin it up like that. Pac kept runnin his mouth until he died. And hes fake anyways cause he was raised on the east coast, hes a fuckin flipper. Pac spit all the emotional real life shit, but turned around and said just as much dumb shit. BIG has always been a better rapper, and Jay after him. Just cause a nigga make a song about his mama dont make him the realest rapper ever, cause he turn right back around and call girls hos and bitches. So my vote is for Jay since he alive, and he runnin the game(behind the scenes) right now. But much love goes to big to who is a better rapper than pac, and is respected more in my eyes.
DooDoo Face!!! 03-20-2006, 07:38 PM remember that this thread says most respected, not best rapper or most overrated
i voted jay-z, because if u think about it he owns everything, and he has absolutely no reason to be disrespected with all his money, b/c if anybody talks trash about him he can just throw cash bundles at your feet, and instently u respect him for everything he's ever done in this world!!
half the people on that list is dead, and eminem and 50 arnt respected as much as they are overrated, because someone jacked 50's $250,000 g-unit chain, and eminem had an unloaded gun on safety at someones head, but he wuz still so nervous that he dropped it cuz his hand wuz shaking so much, jadakiss got shotback at on the song "why?" because every why question was retarted, "Why did aaliyah have to get on that plane..." and people just said.... "u know a better way to get across the ocean, or anywhere fast...." so yea, just think about it
Bone24 03-20-2006, 07:39 PM Its a tie between jay and big. Jay Z isn't even close to Pac's level.
All Jay raps about is basically hoes.
He songs like "2 many Hoes", "Bitches & Sisters", "Girls,Girls,Girls", "Big Pimpin", "Is that Yo Bitch", "Big Pimpin", "Money, Cash, Hoes", "Parkin Lot Pimpin", "Honey", "Shorty", "Shake ya Body", etc.
The list goes on.
He sucks. He thinks he's hard but he ain't. Even his hits are about hoes and sometimes nothing.
"Can I get a what what"
Garbage. Jay Z is overrated. He ain't hardcore.
DooDoo Face!!! 03-20-2006, 07:41 PM ^nah, jay-z when he came out was the best at his time, then hip hop changed and they wanted "money, cash, hoes" so thats what they got, and thats why he can throw money at ur feet and u like him from now on
H_O_V 03-20-2006, 07:43 PM ^propz real talk.
Bone24 03-20-2006, 07:44 PM So your saying because he has money he is good?
H_O_V 03-20-2006, 07:49 PM No, hes sayin that Jay and Dame was runnin the hottest label of the past 5 years, He has been one of the most respected rappers on the past 12 years, every endeavor he goes into is sucessful, he owns clubs, liquor, Def Jam(the greatest hip hop label of all time), shit and he got a bad bitch on his arm. What can you say to him? Hes on top of his shit.
DooDoo Face!!! 03-20-2006, 07:57 PM ^exactly, note that this thread says MOST RESPECTED
if u wanna beef about how good/bad he is lyrically go to his own forum down in the artists section
im saying that because he owns everything he can do whatever he wants, therefore u automatically respect him, even if in ur mind u dont
list of jay-z royalties---
-roc-a-fella
-rocawear
-40/40 club (3 now i think)
-armadale vodka
-new york knicks i think, or the new jersey nets, or both probably
-s. carter rbk shoe
-def jam
-and beyonce (+$100,000,000)
so if u add it all up, hes a multi billion dollar man, so he can do whatever in life he wants and all he needs to do is hire a moneymanager so that him and the moneymanager can become the richest of all time, because all of his shiznit is just gonna continue to grow....
Bone24 03-20-2006, 08:05 PM No, hes sayin that Jay and Dame was runnin the hottest label of the past 5 years, He has been one of the most respected rappers on the past 12 years, every endeavor he goes into is sucessful, he owns clubs, liquor, Def Jam(the greatest hip hop label of all time), shit and he got a bad bitch on his arm. What can you say to him? Hes on top of his shit.
So he has a hot label, hot girl, and owns clubs, but he can't flow.
At my school no one that I know respects Jay-Z and either does Nas, Tupac, Camron, The Game, Canibus, Snoop, Dr. Dre, and Bone Thugs N Harmony.
I don't respect him either.
DooDoo Face!!! 03-20-2006, 09:02 PM ...but he can't flow
^thats ur opinion... for someone that can freestyle all his songs also earns him respect
so yea, if u dont thats fine but technically ur of no importance to his respect, because he's got all he'll ever need from names that are worth more than bill cosby
-Maple- 03-20-2006, 09:12 PM pac in my opinion... i mean people say he's weak lyrically, or he's fake.. i was thought of him as always keepin it real
what about big... in his songs, he makes him sound like a member of some fuckin mafia.. shootin people n shit... fuckin bitches, i honestly don't think he gets alot of pussy... hos want ugly men for their money straight up... n even that, he's fuckin heavy... if he's really gettin pussy, he's not gettin alot. but no one mentions that. cos he's lyrical n shit
pac was a revolutionary(or at least on his way), big is a talented mc
Bone24 03-20-2006, 09:26 PM ^thats ur opinion... for someone that can freestyle all his songs also earns him respect
so yea, if u dont thats fine but technically ur of no importance to his respect, because he's got all he'll ever need from names that are worth more than bill cosby
But does he deserve the respect and money? I know Mike Jones doesn't.
DooDoo Face!!! 03-21-2006, 12:44 AM ^true, mike jones is only successful because of houston, and like lil flip he'll soon forget that, so no of course he doesnt
but to answer ur question, yes he does in many ways, because of his childhood... like many black people his age, he was forced with a hardship, similar to that of tyler perry's and look where he's at now, so he's proof that any one can have their dream come true, because im not exactly clear on the past of jay-z anymore, but from what i remember is that hip hop has always been a way of expressing himself in his own way (joe budden, cormega, many others as well) except he got recognized the most at his time because thats the kind of hip hop that people wanted, but around 1999-2001 hip hop changed to pussy, so he changed his style for the new years, but still not forgetting how he got there, which he proves on "The Blueprint" by combining real songs with club songs, so in a way he revolutionized hip hop, becoming successful in his own creative way from the dirt, to an almost multi-billion dollar man, so yes he definently deserves the respect, and all the money he earned himself, with the help of dame and biggs... they made themselves, so if ur still questioning so much about him id consider googling him or actually listening to his albums, not his singles
just sayin, u can still think whatever u want about him
Bone24 03-21-2006, 01:25 AM ^true, mike jones is only successful because of houston, and like lil flip he'll soon forget that, so no of course he doesnt

well put. I didn't really know much about his past but I don't think he has gone through that much compared to other rappers. But I guess he deserves some respect.
BTW, I have the Black Album and I didn't like it. I have listened to his other albums too like V1 and V3 but I didn't care for them that much. I like to listen to hardcore rap most of the time and I guess that's why I don't like Jay that much. But I still think he is overrated IMO.
DooDoo Face!!! 03-21-2006, 01:50 AM ^nah, hes not overrated, if anything he's underrated because many people like u dont give him the credit he deserves... no offense but im just saying
but i understand, hardcore rap is different from him, but v1 has good songs like "Imaginary Player" "Streets Is Watching" and "City Is Mine"..... v3 has... yea cant remember much from it cuz i get it and blueprint mixed up alot
black album... only lyrically good song wuz... well i cant remember the name but it wuz Track 10, where hes like, allow me to reintroduce myself my name is HOV!!
but for jay-z quotes go to his forum on this site or google "jay-z song quotes" or something like that

DooDoo Face!!! 04-25-2006, 07:28 PM ^read previous post before posting....... besides, ur avi obviously proves ur statement wrong and my LONGASS explination right
vicious23 04-26-2006, 12:32 PM i did read that and i agree so what you talkin bout

DooDoo Face!!! 04-26-2006, 06:46 PM ^true, plus its obvious that rappers are much more highly respected after they pass away....... but try to stick with talkin about the people in the poll
Class!c 04-26-2006, 09:46 PM Easily the tupac .. he is the legend....
Illmatic620 04-27-2006, 12:39 AM Yeah gotta be Pac for this one, not the best but definately the most respected
