(There's a video of it, too)

A police officer accused of dumping a teenager into a litter bin for being rude has been suspended from duty.

On a mobile phone video Anop Singh, 16, can be seen being picked up by the plain-clothes officer and put in the bin in Hackney, east London.

His father denied that his son had been misbehaving and said if he was being "lippy", he should have been arrested.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating "in view of the potential for community concern."

Anop and his friend Pierre Cornwall,17, were near the park last Thursday when there were reports of youths throwing conkers.

Pierre videoed Anop being "binned" on his mobile phone and can be heard laughing in the background.

Anop told BBC London he had not provoked the officer and his father said he would be making a formal complaint.

Gurdev Singh told BBC News the boys had been mistaken for being part of a group of youths running out of the park.

"Everyone is saying he was misbehaving, but he wasn't. He was just waiting for a bus at the time," he told BBC London.

"If my son was being rude or lippy I believe he should have been arrested and taken to the police station and then I could have been telephoned and gone down there.

"He's a police officer - he's got a badge and authority so he should be using them properly."

The officer has been suspended and the matter has been referred to the IPCC to ensure an "appropriate, impartial investigation".

IPCC Commissioner Deborah Glass said: "Our investigator will be meeting them and the complainant as soon as possible."

Even though it's pretty funny, I think the officer was completely out of line and unproffesional. There are ways to conduct yourself when on duty, and he seemed to forget that when doing the forementioned action.

Thats funny, I dont see whats so wrong with it, he didnt physically harm the kid... sure its a bit inappropriate but not worth suspending the officer or anything like that. Besides... its always funny to see a teen put in a trashcan, gotta set'em straight sometimes.

Lmao... So much drama over something so little... could of been worse... the officer could of smashed his head in instead... kid needs to get over it...

Only thing though is that the bin could of had needles and shit in it... so it was a bit dangerous... but oh well... he needs to get over it the little poofta...
