Well... Saying that it isn't hip hop are a little hard.
It's experimental. I agree that some of their tracks is out of place, but you have to remember songs like "Nightmare On My Street" or "Brand New Funk"
Today Will Smith is wack but some of his old works, as the fresh prince, are in my opinion solid hip hop tracks.
You can't deny his old stuff, no matter how wack he has become.
