Question: why is 50 cent so hated? Is it because he's so popular, making more money then other artists, because he went commercial?

People dont like him, cuz hes one of the top selling rappers even though he isnt the most lyrically talented rapper in the industry. And for some reason they hate him, even though they was the same ones that was buildin the hype behind him a few months ago. Everyone is just jumpin on and off bandwagons - a few months ago everyone was behind 50. And if you werent, than you probably never heard about him back than. Now that hes on Mtv and shit, everyone some how forgot that the last few months ever existed. Alls they really did was jump on another bandwagon, in which everyone hates 50 Cent now. What I want to know is, whats everyone complainin about? Do you remember a few months ago, the Nellys and the Ja Rules were at the fore-front of hiphop? Didnt you hear about 50 on one of those 106 or TRL shows havin everyone booin Ja Rule (the posterboy of whats wrong with hiphop) lettin all those dumbass mothafuckas at the shows that they was listenin to some stupid shit the whole time. Plus hes humble as fuck, sayin in interviews that hes honored that people be comparin him to Pac and Big and shit, but that he is no where near them at all - that was when he had all the hype behind him too. And even when he was the biggest thing back than, he was still sayin how Eminem is the best rapper in the industry right now and everything. What Im sayin is that hes contributin to hiphop. Hes brought back some raw gangsta shit to the mainstream... And even though the industry's not where is should be yet, isnt this a good thing? A step forward? Why is everyone hatin 50 Cent? You may think he sucks and hes wack, but I think yall should praise the man for what hes doin for hiphop.

Oh, I know he aint that great lyricwise or anything. Im into alot of straight emcee shit, Nas, Eminem, Royce 5'9, Noyd, Pac, AZ, Rakim... WANGSTA, that took all the respect he had away...that little lallabuy, children's birthday party shit took his respect away....but he's still good, not what he used to be, cause now he's commercial and shits changed fo' him....if u notice, i got one of his quotes as my sig...so i didn't abandon him jus cause he went commerical, cause the niggas still doin underground shit, but now, SOME of it is exactly that...Underground SHIT.

Eminem's the perfect example for this arguement. He put out some of the corniest and dumbest singles I've ever heard. "Hi, my Name Is!!!!", "The Real Slim Shady", and "Without Me" are all 20 times more retarted than Wanksta or 21 Questions. But Eminem's not wack, thats just to get the pop crowd to buy his album and to be on Mtv and shit. Thats what 50 and every other artist in the industry does too.

I dont buy that "he was better when he was underground" arguement. His underground shit is the same thing as his newer shit - only difference is better production. Listen to "Doin My Own Thang" and "You Should Be Here" - they definately more radio friendly than Wanksta. And check out his verses on 'Poison', 'Problem Child' and 'Rotten Apple' - these are some of his dopest underground songs and they not gonna blow you away compared to his newer shit. He hasnt been that great on the mic since 'Power of the Dollar' and that was over 3 years ago - and even than he wasnt that consistant lyrically. Hes a decent rapper, just not as great as some people say he is. And hes not as bad as other people make him out to be. And his shits the same before he blew up and after he blew up - before Wanksta and after In Da Club, theres no difference.

I only liked a few of his songs and the only songs off his new CD I like are the ones with Eminem. I think he has *some* catchy lines but then the rest of his songs just lack a lot and seem like he gave up on some.

Personally 2 Pac would make him look like shit if he was still alive.
