I'm having a jazz theme party for New Years, looking for "jazzy" drink recipes, either authentic historical drinks from the great jazz era, or ones that just suggest jazz to you.

Heh. I looked around and I guess I'll just hafta figure out historically what was drank at the height of the jazz era and then compare it to some recipe lists. Found a great bar site though, www.thebar.com, loads of drink recipes and a virtual bartender that actually demonstrates pouring. This one is apparently from the jazz era, according to google:

Scotch Blaze

Ingredients
• 1.5 oz. scotch
• .5 oz. grenadine
• 3 oz. sour mix
.................................................. ..............................
Preparation
• Add scotch, grenadine, and sour mix
• Stir and serve in a rocks glass
