I'm a big fan of rappers that have the ability to tell a good story through their music. In my opinion the best storytellers would have to be Notorius BIG and Nas.

Nas, he gets this title easily.

Although I've only heard one album of his I'm saying Jibbarish... Big Mouth & Womb to the Tomb are two of the best factual story-telling songs I've heard, and Attack of the Junkies & Cannibal Island are two of the best fictional story telling songs I've ever heard.

nas "undying luv" on the "i am" album, crazy story and the "last real nigga alive" on God son "get down" is good too and the classic "one luv" "blaze a 50" on the lost tapes "i gave you power" on it was written where he tells a story from a guns point of view

Aesop Rock - No Regrets is great also but i dont consider Aesop one of the greatest at storytelling i just love that song.

Nas (I Gave You Power, One Love, etc.) is obviously great, as is Big L (Casualties of a Dice Game, The Heist, etc.)

Cormega has a few dope ones (Dead Man Walking)... shit even Lloyd Banks got a couple good ones (When The Chips Are Down, South Side Story)... DMX has some good ones, best being Crime Story....

Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day was some good shit too... and Kool G. Rap and Slick Rick are obvious storytelling legends

Why are people listing tracks that aren't even stories? One Love isn't a story telling song and about ten people listed it, he's writing a letter not telling a story. Do you consider letters you've written to be stories? Stories have a beginning a middle and an end, he's just listing events.
