A couple of days ago i was in my Foriegn policy class and we were dicussing the new Buget Proposal by president bush. The conversation shifted towards Defence spending, and the education plan. Now, normally we wouldnt talk about the education plan, because thats domestic policy, and it is a FORIEGN POLICY class. Moreover, the president new buget called for increased spending for school. Hiring new, more experinced teachers, Building more schools, and thing of that nature. His reasioning behind it was that American Students are falling behind in areas like MATH and SCIENCE. Then i read some of the satement that were made in the "Classes that are a waste of time" thread. It got me thinking about alot of people i know that felt the same way some of you felt about that particular issue. A mean do we really need some of these classes? Furthermore, is the one thing that was completely bipartisian in his State of The Union adress really worth it? I've come to the conclusion that is not. As long as students think that some part of school is worthless; And take adovice from a dead rapper instead of people who actuall know what there talking about, there isnt any reason to increase spending. Why try to help some one who dont care about there own future. Futhermore, its only when some one is educated that they reilze that they really dont know anything. And its funny how ignorance is so popular now. Being dumb is the shit huh. But when life, real life hit these people thoose classes arent going to look so bad.
