What happen to the Dj's? Are they just doing mix-tapes or do they still Dj for rappers? Every show that i've been to within the last year displays no dj's doin their thing on the decks.
HELP ME YALL:eek: I get around, east, west, dirty south and mid-west and all i saw was Dj Premier rockin his usual sets.
I could be wrong...i'm man enough to admit it!

I WANNA SEE THEM ACTUALLY MOVIN THE WAX OR CD'S MAKEN ME GET HYPE. I DON'T CARE WHO'S MUSIC THEY USE, ENTERTAIN ME...PROPS TO THE RAPPERS', BUT GIVE YA DJ AT LEAST 5 MINUTES TO DO HIM!
SURPRISE US, LET YA DJ BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION FOR A MINUTE!

I feel you D.A. But you know what? Different always wins over popularity, because popularity only last until they find a new circus clown to exploit!!
The streets is always gonna run things, it's where the real live!!
Ice Cube once said....."Smiling on MTV, but they don't care...they have a new **** next year!!!!
Holla at cha man...

I feel you, i'm just goin to check up on my peeps...nothin hip hop related though? But i get around alot. I Dj and deal with alot of a&r's. Sometimes, i just wish they would follow their hearts and sign real artist who bleed this hip hop on a daily basis.
But it's hard when label heads only want what's popular! i know a few a&r's who being askin me about reppin some of these artist's.
I've given a lot of cats info and numbers to get where they need to be. I do this, because i really LOVE HIP HOP AND BROTHA'S WHO BLEED THIS EVERYDAY!
Some of us actually luv what we do....

Being a Dj is almost like being a a&r person....we hear tons of songs and we get rushed by artist's just as much to play their songs. I always play em...on the air..(if they clean of course) and in the clubs.
They clubs pay me to play music and that's what i do! I keep it right yall, not real because too many fake cats clamin they keep it real.
I don't have to know you to play ya record, if it's hot...i'mma play you. I once played this club in New York and this certain Dj (won't mention his name, but he's from Hot 97)....told me i was crazy because i played 90% of the cats stuff who didn't have a record deal.
But guess what? some of them cats go noticed by some a&r's. It only takes one...and like Pac said...i'mma stay true till i DIE!
holla at cha man....
