it may not be you, the reader, but sooner or later someone will probably ask me why most of my sigs have a bright spot in em. well that my friends is what we'd call a "light source/lighting". now on a couple GFX sites I've been on, lighting is pretty much the name of the game but since I'm not one for shoving beliefs down others' throats, I'll jus say that you don't have to use it in your sigs if you dont want to but if youd like to, then this quick tips thread will hopefully help you get the right idea of how to implement it. So now we begin...
Here are some examples of BAD Lighting

^it fades into darkness decently but notice how it's too bright; it tends to blend in with her face too much. also you'll notice that it's at an improper angle. how can you tell? notice her left shoulder (the one closest to the light source)...see the shadows? they shouldnt be there if the lighting is in the position its in now so that makes it look unrealistic.

^lighting is positioned nicely and it fades into darkness nicely on the left. but when you look to right you'll see its suddenly dark. the fade to darkness should be ALOT more gradual than this.
Now some examples of GOOD Lighting

^the lighting is positioned properly and the stock/render is blended accordingly. also the fade to darkness is nice and gradual.

^same as above but take note of the positioning and blending; the light is supposed to be coming from above and behind him and the brightened areas reflect that.
these are just some quick tips for lighting use. but also remember that lighting doesnt always have to be so blatant cuz it can be subtle and work too...

anyway I plan to make a tutorial on my technique at this point so be on the lookout for that ~1~
