I don't listen to much UK stuff, but I like Klashnekoff's style. I'm pretty much basing that on the track It's Murda, which has 1 of the best UK beats I've heard

feral

Outta them it's either Klash or Lowkey. Favourite UK rapper is Jehst.

There is Skinnyman but Klashnekoff is still good but you're missing out a lot of good UK acts.

MakMan
03-06-2006, 06:00 PM

Something about Mystro i dont like, bores me after 2 or 3 tracks.Monster under the bed? i'm gonna admit i've not heard of,name sounds interesting though.Doc Brown and Tekneek are nice but just short from making it.This Lee Scott is someone else i need to listen to, he's gettin love from the people dem.. So Reveal goes through and if anyone else mentions Lee Scott then he's done did it as well........
And yeah, i'll go with you on the taskforce comment but Skinnyman is up there mate, I cant see many beatin him if it come down to a raw mc battle, the man has other than plenty of skill, the experience to wipe some of these younger rappers of the block. SKINNY stays....

I've only seen Skinnyman battle once n he got merrrrrrked by sum guy I neva even heard of at JumpOff

Lee Scott is definitely up there, and having said that it'd be hard to ignore Salar n Conflix as well. Monstah Under The Bed I aint heard enough of to say he's one of the best but what I have heard he's definitely impressive. Jibbarish, Conflix, Baron Samedi & Doc Brown are my favourites from the south, I aint overly keen on Mystro myself, K-Lash is nice but along with Jehst he's an emcee I haven't heard a great deal of.

You should definitely check Lee Scott out though, pure talent

Mystro is quality, especially freestyles. I got some Dark-n-Cold DVD and he goes through some decent punches and wordplay for a freestyle.

HoBGoBLiN
03-07-2006, 07:01 AM
Never heard him freestyle, in all honesty I've only heard about 4 of his tunes, he's pretty funny but his style isn't something I could listen to over n over again. Like that Awkward Thief, good tune first time you play it, novelty wears off and it gets lost in time

MakMan
03-07-2006, 08:20 AM
So you might think Mystro is quality, which i dont doubt. But is he the best uk act or even in your top 3 ?

MakMan

Anyone that hasn't heard Lowkeys Key to the game vol 3 yet needs to be ordering that cd now...... Ok its a mixtape but it sounds like a solid album....

i'll change my mind and go for lowkey cos i just noticed yall were talking about lowkey from england ... i thought yall were talking about loki from glasgow ...

i had lowkey's kaye to the game vol 1 & 3 and both were nice but all my uk shit got deleted ...

KTTG III is definitely his most solid product to date, but like you said that aint even an album. When he does put out a major album it'll make waves up n down the country. Can't believe how young he is

it goes without saying mystro is better than skinny in everyway possible....flows...punchlines...multis etc...skinny has neithewr he flows thats about it...no multis no punches (even when battling)...he is seriously overated....taskforce jehst etc are way overated too but still they shit on skinny...ill get you some lee scott etc up to listen to....anyone else you want whilst im there??????

MakMan
03-07-2006, 07:28 PM
Look mate skinnys got punchlines and flows and some good stories to go with themand his beats are varied to keep things interesting. I'll put mystro to the vote and we'll see. Mike GLC was another good call ....... STREET

Saint Bastard
03-08-2006, 02:29 PM
no need to put mystro to the vote im just putting ym point across i think hes better than skinny but thats me...maybe im being a bit harsh on skinny hes not as bad as ive made out but hes far from one of the best cause he is pretty basic...he can give a a good topic on crackwhores and skag heads though

I like Skinnyman but I agree with Bastardo, he's not got as much in his locker as a lot of UK rappers. Plus Im pretty sure he's an Arsenal fan so that's 50 points deducted already

I think skinny is amazing contentwise...
Jehst n Jibba are my personal fav's though...
I spent some of the morning comparing the two....

Skinnyman is ok. He does chat some shit I reckon though. 'Who? Me?' Is bollocks, same as 'I'll be surprised'. I like the tune 'Love's gone from the streets', there's a quote from that I like, but I can't remember it. Something about his NHS gold tooth.

I like some of his tunes, but he's alternate rap in my opinion, like spoken poetry. Plus he doesn't rhyme in the conventional sense. You can't bad mouth witness though.

klashnekoff gets my vote everytime for lyrical content, guys a genius. Feeling mic assassin at tha mo tho and tha guy murks bare people on a freestyle. Slewisham slang is a nice tune.

Mic Assassin aint that nice at battling, Stig, Sonny Jim and Whas His Face are all better in my opinion.

I've heard slewisham slang and its pretty decent, i reckon. However on the battle front, Mic Assassin is garbage. Some of the stuff he says just makes you cringe...

Klashnekoff's album isn't out yet, should be out next month some time under the title "Lionheart: Tussle with the Beast". His Mix CD Focus Mode is out in nearly any music shop. It's pretty rare that you'll find The Sagas of anywhere, lucky I got mine earlyish.

This list is decent, quite good variety even tho it's missin' a few contenders. 'Skinnyman' probably gets my vote as he gets the most rotation 4rm my U.K shit within this list, but I think 'K-lash' has probably got the best overall skills on the list. Generally tho my vote wud go 2 'Akala'. Think 'Swiss' deserves a shout as suprisingly no1's mentioned him. Surely he's got 2 b among the U.K's elite. His 'Pain 'n' Muzik' album is worth checkin' out.
