Answer these quetions for me for journalism please!
Give your full and honest opinion, this is anonymous.

Do you listen to mainstream rap a lot? (Young Jeezy, Nelly, D4L, Dem Franchise Boyz, Jay-Z, The Neptunes, Paul Wall, Eminem, Bow Wow, 50 cent, Kanye West)

Do you listen to underground rap a lot? (Cormega, Three 6 Mafia, Papoose, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Guru, Bone Thugz ‘N Harmony, The outlawz)

How do you compare these two verses?
Young Jeezy-Patty cake, patty cake, microwave
These suckas make a square, damn I'm paid (ha ha)
I'm so cool, but I'm so hot, and I'm, I'm so fly, and you, you're so not (nope)
Show me what you're workin' wit just like that (like that)
Turn around, bend over, bring it back (bring it back)
Slow Mannie, Mannie Fresh bring it back (bring it back)
It's Mannie Fresh and Snowman, it's a wrap
Wrapped up in the club, yeah I'm so crazy
These other rappers actors like Patrick Swayze (ha ha)
I tried to tell 'em but these niggaz ain't hearin' me
Mossberg Pump ridin' shotgun literally (daaamn)
Live from the projects, you know what it is
Ay, Snowman, (what up), can I get a ad lib?
Get the club crunk, can't take that from me
Ain't dropped yet, still got a lil' jon money

Talib Kweli-These niggaz ain't thugs, the real thugs is the government
Don't matter if you independent, democrat or republican
Niggaz politickin the street, get into beef
Start blastin, now a new cat is executive chief
With a, passion for heat you get, blast in yo' seat
Die before you crash in yo' Jeep, never passin' in your sleep
like an old man, you ain't a fool you got a whole plan
to conquer territories like Europeans who stole land
The future of your whole fam' hang in the balance
You the king, and your block is the palace
Y'all niggaz is the parliament, untouchable, spot unrushable
Keep your weight wet, call in collect to save a buck or two
Get mad, who the fuck are you? What you gonna do?
Exactly what I thought - NOTHIN, in the sport of frontin
you the undisputed champion, I'm in a class you can't be in
My words is flesh like Jesus, the aquarian

1- Do you listen to mainstream rap a lot?
Yeah, more 'mainstream' than anything else rap wise.

2- Do you listen to underground rap a lot?
Not as much as mainstream (I don't know enough artists).

3- How do you compare these two verses?
The first verse seems more "bubblegum" rap. The topics are more fitted and shallow. When you read the words, it doesn't tend to follow a trend of common subjects, it randomly jumps between whatever fits best, and what rhymes more.
The second verse tends to have more of a 'message'. It's not just glamourous words - it's descriptive and honest.
The first verse is more basic rhyming, and shallow fantasy; whereas the second verse has more depth and more substance

4- How do you define a person who is hip-hop, no matter the color?
I don't.

Speak.
