Ok time to put my skills and wallet where my mouth has been. This thread will be dedicated to the rebuild and i do mean REBUILD of my recently wrecked
84 volvo 242ti {ti= Turbo Intercooled}.
For those who checked the "i did it again" thread no that i recently smacked up my class A stock car. Well i cant think of a better opertunity to build my next sic toy. My goals are for over 400hp and 300 ft tourqe in a fully gutted and caged interior. Using a 2.3 lt 16v DOHC engine. Using a holset GT40. More then likley il go budget on the efi and use megasquirt.
Original motor is a 2.1 lt low compression 7.5-1 SOHC 4cyl. K-jet mechanical injection. About 180hp 135 tourqe.
What im starting with

Should have the motor out by this weekend. Then i can start preping
the engine bay. After that il get the fuel system out and prep for the race tank and hi flow efi system for the new engine.

I have built more then a couple volvos in the past but this will deffitnitly take the cake. Im setting the bar low as far as the final results thesse motors have been built by others and have achieved over 500hp in the past.
This project should probably last the next 8-12 weeks depending on how much time i can dedicate to it. and yes this will be out my pockets allthough that is not a "problem" for me as my pockets seem to be deeper then ever lately. Time is my biggest enemy right now. we shall see.

I prefer the first front bumper, because the intercooler is right at the front and fits perfectly.

Yea i like that front cover better to but i also think the way it knife edges in then back out doesnt realy match the boxy'ness of the car.
Ehh i think ima head back to the drawing board and mabey present a 3rd option...

shits tight , hard work for sur though, but if it was mine id go for the one on the bottom to stick with the styling of the car, the first one might be to agressive , but thats just my opinion, shit but its gunna be sick when its done
