View Full Version : Attention All UK Drivers...
Dirty Frank 04-22-2006, 11:04 AM I'm fucked off. And I'll tell you the reason I'm fucked off. Car Insurance is a bitch for the younger driver. I mean, how fucking rich do they think 17 year old students are? £5,000 for a best quote... fuck off. So, I need your help fellow citizens of Rapworlds... as I know that a few of you are young drivers. I'd like to know where you got your car insured, and how much if you don't mind answering. If anybody could give me some tips on how to get it cheaper, or give me a link to a cheap insurance website... rep will be given. If not, stay the fuck out.
"Bricktop" 04-22-2006, 11:10 AM what u driving a bentley???
Dirty Frank 04-22-2006, 11:13 AM Your fat ass girlfriend...
Scientologist 04-22-2006, 11:23 AM 5000?? thats very steep, what are you driving ? Did you do your pass plus test thingy that knocks it down a bit i dunno how much, i'm just waiting on my test
-Saracen- 04-22-2006, 11:24 AM ^ Lmao.
Anyway, my insurance is with my dad's. It's on Norwich Union and with me as a listed driver, it cost about an extra £400 on 3rd Party.
£5k is expensive as fuck. What car is it and what insurance company? One of my friends drives a brand new Clio Sport, fully comp insurance for himself at £3k. Try Tesco out. They're a bint odd - I know someone who got qouted about £1600 on 3rd Party (its expensive, yea... but its alright in comparrison to others) and another person who was quoted about £3k.
When did you pass? What did you get? Lol.
Irate. 04-22-2006, 11:26 AM there's a site on the net.. that you can search all insurance companies in the uk for the cheapest quote.. only thing is i don't know the name of the site lol but my mate used it before and he got a pretty good deal
Dirty Frank 04-22-2006, 11:27 AM ^ I'm still 16 but my friend just passed his test, he's 17.
He has a 2003 Polo 1.2
I'll be having my lessons shortly though, and this would help me too... plus the sooner my mate gets insured the sooner I get lifts to and from college.
So... HELP PEOPLE !
Edit: Thanx Nuke, I'll tell him bout Tesco.
I got a quote for me for a 1.4 Punto GT and it was close to £9,500
Lawl.

What car is that? 400 quid is well cheap
Kronologik 04-22-2006, 11:33 AM Yeah I'm same as Nuke, on Norwich Union with my dad as the main driver. Tesco is supposed to be cheap
Or you could dress up like a lady and go to Sheila's Wheels. I hear they have bonzer car insurance deals....
-Saracen- 04-22-2006, 11:33 AM What car is that? 400 quid is well cheap
Its cheap because its the third car we're currently insured by them so they gave us a little discount, and because as I said my dad insured himself on it first then just added my name as a listed driver, so the car isn't in my name or anything. The car is a Punto..

Is a listed driver the same as being a second driver? Because I heard that Insurance Companies may know when your not the main driver of the car and if you need to claim they won't pay out.
How old's your Punto Nuke? I'm after an old one... but the insurance on them are still pretty high.
-Saracen- 04-22-2006, 11:43 AM Lmao...

Yea, a listed driver basically means you use the car whenever you want, but just not as much as the main driver. If you claim, they have to pay out... You've paid them the insurance and so if you claim, depending of course on the specifics of the accident, they have to pay up.
My Punto is an X-Reg, 1.4
Tw!stEd 04-22-2006, 06:17 PM I'm on my mum's insurance for a 1.4 fiesta SI, and it was £1,200, which I've paid for...
*Edit*
I also have an excess of £500....

TCE_Killa 05-18-2006, 11:55 AM I passed my test three months ago and I have done my Pass Plus test (very easy 7 hour drive). It knocks your insurance off 40% which is ideal.
It depends what car you want really, I have a Peugeot 106 Quicksilver. I bought the car for 2 grand (all done up, everything and pretty rapid) and I had £1500 insurance on it. Are you going on your parents insurance?

No, don't do this. You chav. I should ban you for being a chav but anyway, don't go on confused.com.
Confused.com only show the premium insurance quotes. The more people confused.com register with premium insurance quotes for the said insurance company, the higher the cut they get. Avoid them like the plague.

Trying out The Bell website... hope it cheap.
Edit: £3640... fuck.
