Papoose & Primo ? (plus an interview with Papoose)

"On the radio last week DJ Premier of Gang Star Fame called into the Drama hour and said that he really wants to work with Pap. I would expect a track soon..."

Pap and Primo = Crack

......................................

And heres one of his recent interviews with ************* .com (no body smiling .com)

It is rare that an underground rapper gets to grace the pages and airwaves of all the big media outlets. The opportunity only comes when the MC gets steady radio rotation or mainstream hit status. Brooklyn rapper, Papoose, is the exception to the rule.
Brought officially into the game by Hot 97’s DJ Kay Slay, Papoose appeared on thirteen of the Street Sweepers mixtapes and received the 2005 Justo award for the best underground artist.

Pap’s been spitting rhymes since he was 8 years old and got his name from his grandma which means Native American infant or young child. Rhyming has taken this young buck into assorted arenas such as writing the classic underground hit, “Alphabetical Slaughter,” which solidified his status as an unique MC, and also can be heard on Madden’s 2006 video game.

After signing with Violator management, Pap joined forces with Busta Rhymes for the club banger, “Touch It (Remix)” and collabed for the newly released, “Get Right. ”The self-proclaimed, “straight up lyricist” is constantly on the grind, touring, interviewing and working on his newly anticipated album. Papoose is looking for at least a seven-figure deal and previously has declined signing to any major music labels, in hopes that his street cred and constant hustle will generate the big dollars. Pap has been the buzz in New York for years, and now it’s time to share his lyrical jewels with the rest of the world.

************* .com : Can you tell me about the upcoming album?

Papoose : The album will be out later this year. The title of the album is 'The Nacirema Dream'. Narcirema is America spelled backwards. The reason why it’s that title is because everyone from around the world strives to live the American dream. They come here in boats lose their life, foreigners, people of this country, we all foreigners, but Narcirema Dream, the American dream is to get rich, live lavish, take care of your family.

************* .com : Tell me about myspace.com. I heard there were some imposters posing as you.

Papoose : Well basically everyone that was supportive of my site, continue to support. There was an imposter all along, but I am in the process of taking over it. There is over a quarter of a million hits on it, so I ain’t mad at that.

************* .com : If you had to describe your flow in one word, what would it be?

Papoose : Versatile.
************* .com : You say you want longevity in the game, how do plan on obtaining that?

Papoose : Basically staying true to yourself. Once you change, you shorten your time span. Put a lot of time into it and know your roots.

************* .com : Top three lyricists?

Papoose : Big Daddy Kane, Kool G. Rap, and Rakim.

************* .com : Can you tell me about that tattoo on your hand?

Papoose : (Laughs) who told you I had a tattoo? I don’t have one tattoo on my body. Those were camera tricks, baby.

(Starts rhyming) "I Got Staten Island on my pinky/Queens on my dumb dude/The Bronx on my middle finger screaming fuck you/Rock ice in Manhattan so there’s no ring finger/you know you had to keep Brooklyn on the trigger finger/five boroughs of death/you don’t understand...(continued below)

I got New York City in the Palm of my hand."

************* .com : You say you represent the educated thug with the “Nation of Thugication.” How did you become an educated thug?

Papoose : There are so many different aspects. You have to have street smarts, know the criminal justice system and street knowledge. Learn the law, global issues, drop science and keep it pure street.

************* .com : I just want to clarify some rumors about you. Were you offered a record deal from Shady/Aftermath?

Papoose : I don’t want to burn any bridges, but I have been offered a lot of offers from different places.

************* .com : Is there any truth into you getting stabbed while in the studio?

Papoose : That’s a terrible rumor. It’s fabricated, not true, they said I got killed. Do I sound dead to you?

************* .com : Ah, no. What is your relationship like with G-Unit?

Papoose : Me and Yayo are real cool. Whenever we see each other he shows me love and we kick it. That’s what my relationship is like.

************* .com : One more question. For kids who don’t live in the New York City area, what would be your advice on how they could get their music heard?

Papoose : Go through the mixtape circuit. Stay persistent, consistent and don’t let anybody tell you, you can’t do it.
