What a pathetic day of football, smh... funk_M 04-29-2006, 11:55 AM Shame about rooney but hooray for Chelsea beating the scum. Woo hoo. Still doesn't make up for city having the worst second half of a season ever, but seeing any team but united win the title makes me happy inside. Ahhhhh.... funk_M 04-29-2006, 01:01 PM Goddamn city suck major ass. Only team in the premiership to lose at home to fulham....and we had been 1-0 up. Damn the fucktards at city. -Saracen- 04-29-2006, 01:03 PM ^ Lmao, I just came in here to taunt you about that. Fulham's first away win... *places a tenner bet on that Funk will become a Chelsea supporter next season* funk_M 04-29-2006, 01:39 PM NEVER! I'm city through and through, and, unfortunately, i've supported them through worse times than this....yep, good old division 2 football. Ha, you'd have to be retarded to be a glory supporter who supports city, we're shit, we've done fuck all for the twenty years i've supported them (that's right, i supported them when i was a baby). Ah well, we'll do better next season.....or we'll get relegated, either way its amusing. .Con. 04-29-2006, 01:51 PM :( at rooneys injury .. MCD 04-29-2006, 07:32 PM fuck chelsea...lol..and fuck them even more for injuring the only striker england have who can shoot... Owen is looking doubtful now too... i can see it now...Crouch and Heskey to lead englands strike force in germany.. we're doomed:( -Saracen- 04-29-2006, 08:01 PM Lmao at Crouch and Heskey... The 2 worst strikers to ever put on an England kit, smh... If they were a partnership, then just :( Scientologist 04-29-2006, 08:51 PM :( :( :( damn Rooney did this last world cup and fucked everything up for us !! Bang goes any chance of winning that then, if we really did play with Heskey and Crouch i think i would be forced to suicide :S whats next fucking Danny Mills !! HoBGoBLiN 05-02-2006, 06:27 AM Without Rooney, we're fucked... With Owen nowhere near full fitness we have so few alternatives it's scary, probably the closest we'd have to a functioning partnership is Defoe and, dare I say it, Crouch. We're fucked :( .Con. 05-02-2006, 06:37 AM fucked......and man u failed to score .. again .. without rooney .. :( .. HoBGoBLiN 05-02-2006, 08:13 AM If I was Eriksson, I'd kill myself, but if I was Eriksson with my knowledge of football I'd be thinking about playing five across midfield with one front man. A centre mid consisting of Beckham Lampard and Gerrard, with Beckham the holding player spraying passes long and short and Lamps and Stevie being the forward runners because that's what they do best, with the current system and even with Rooney in the squad we never see anything like the best of those two. Playing on the right as almost an old fashioned wing forward I'd have Wright-Phillips (much as I hate him and he doesn't deserve a place in the squad let alone the team) running beyond defenders and getting to the by-line, holding it up if necessary until Lamps and Stevie can attack the ball with speed. On the other wing but with a different game plan I'd have Joe Cole, coming in-field and supplying support for the striker as well as putting balls into the box and picking passes for the forward runners. Up front is a mystery though, do you go for the targetman Crouch to get the knock downs needed for the front runners to feed off or Defoe/Bent to give defenders more to think about when the balls on the ground? Crouch despite his height is a woeful header of the ball and neither Defoe or Bent is in form. If Owens fit then he'd be the obvious choice for frontman. We're still fucked though :( Scientologist 05-02-2006, 08:17 AM ^^ Woo Shearer and or Sheringham out of retirement do it like the good old days !! HoBGoBLiN 05-02-2006, 08:19 AM ^^^Hahaha, we could do with them! .Con. 05-02-2006, 08:29 AM ^.. definitely .. i'd play beckham on the wing and carrick holding .. Scientologist 05-02-2006, 08:35 AM I'd give Andy johnson a chance before picking Crouch (i really do hate him) he's had another good season, lower league i know but he was second top scorer in the premiership last year in a shite team, he should get a chance. HoBGoBLiN 05-02-2006, 09:02 AM ^^^He did get a chance, and Eriksson played him in right midfield :( KILL THE FUCKING SWEDE I doubt Beckham would have any effect as a winger in the system I suggested, he's never been blessed with pace so for him to put effective crosses into the box for Stevie and Frank he'd have to be ahead of play at all times, which would be a dangerous game. I know Im biased but Id seriously take Aaron Lennon over Wright-Phillips, the latter has hardly played this season whilst Lennon has been one of Tottenhams best performers for the whole of the second half of the season. Saying that it may be a bit early for an 18 year old who does still make the odd mistake, he'll be priceless for England one day though :D HoBGoBLiN 05-02-2006, 09:05 AM You know who I'd consider instead of Crouch? Dean Ashton, he's about the only player in the country worth mentioning who fits the Alan Shearer mould. He picked up an injury last night though, but still, nobody mentions him. If the papers were raving about Dean Ashton, or it had been Ashton who moved to Liverpool, Eriksson would pick him in every squad I guarantee Soft Swedish cunt, I tell you my hatred for Eriksson doesn't end with his England reign. Nay, I vow to hunt him down to the scummiest Swedish village and beat him to death with a herring Scientologist 05-02-2006, 11:59 AM ^^^He did get a chance, and Eriksson played him in right midfield :( KILL THE FUCKING SWEDE I doubt Beckham would have any effect as a winger in the system I suggested, he's never been blessed with pace so for him to put effective crosses into the box for Stevie and Frank he'd have to be ahead of play at all times, which would be a dangerous game. I agree Lennon is quality but he is a bit young he's not a Rooney that could come in at 18 and handle it IMO couple of years and he will be right in there -Saracen- 05-02-2006, 12:48 PM If I was Eriksson, I'd kill myself, but if I was Eriksson with my knowledge of football I'd be thinking about playing five across midfield with one front man.
