According to Raekwons people we can officially confirm that Chef Raekwon has inked a deal with Dr. Dres Aftermath Entertainment. While details are still sketchy, we can confirm that the papers were signed last week.
It was already known that Dr. Dre and Raekwon had worked together on the highly anticipated "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" project, an initiative of Busta Rhymes who is also an Executive Producer of the record with RZA.
"Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II" will be a co-production between Aftermath and Wu-Tang. Whether this is the Wu Music Group or Wu-Tang Productions is not known yet.
RZA has yet to confirm the rest of the details.
This is truly history in the making...

K Rippa 05-28-2006, 10:56 AM Great news. Wu will be on top again! If anyone hates on Rae for this they are stupid. He is going more commercial now, suck it up!

Wtf are you on? Haven't you heard Cuban Linx?
Raekwon shouldn't be rapping over on Dr. Dre's beats. Matter in fact, it wouldn't suit him
Raekwon are known for his excellent dark lyrics on some gritty beats. Dre will just ruin all this. This would probably be weak.
PeeJai 05-28-2006, 11:08 AM ^^ Agreed and it will probably feature 50 cent too :(

First of all I have Cuban Linx.... Second, whats wrong with having Dre behind the project? You act as if Dre hasnt made grimey beats before... But whatever, you can complain all you want, im hoping for the best
bogart 05-28-2006, 12:24 PM Dre & 50 fell out, and y'all don't know Raekwon and what he can and can't do, so keep your mouth shut. This is good news. :)

AkAdEmiX 05-28-2006, 02:47 PM knowones saying dre doesnt make good beats butt raekwons style doesnt suit dre at all... whatever well c what happends
-Maple- 05-28-2006, 04:35 PM yea i'll look foward to this
this reminds me somewhat of rakim n dre... this cd beter come out
Juice. 05-28-2006, 04:59 PM What do you mean it dosen't suit him? Do you people fear change?
Imagine raekwon with "The Next Episode" beat. =D
Plus, Rza's production has been horrible lately, if anything this is fantastic news.
Donmega 05-28-2006, 05:03 PM Raekwon's Flow, Lyrics & Style are best suited for gritty beats.
Juice. 05-28-2006, 05:12 PM How so? Rza is having huge creativity problems at the moment, so if the album were to be all Rza beats, it would suck ass.

RZA's beats are still on point. Overall, Dre's beats are dope, but just aren't suited to someone like Ghost or Raekwon who'd prefer darker and grimier beats. Completely agree with Donmega.
Donmega 05-28-2006, 05:28 PM You do know that there are plenty of producers out there who can also make gritty beats right?
And in this case, I'd like to see Rae hook back up with 'Mike "Trauma" D' & 'Triflyn' who produced some of the best songs on Rae's Immorbilarity album.
Raekwon & Pete Rock too, Those two have a good chemistry together as it looks like on "Sneakers". Definitly Raekwon beats rap song since the ones he made on the Cuban Linx album.
BoneStarr 05-28-2006, 05:59 PM I'd like to hear this CD first before making a proper comment, but at the moment I reckon its gonna be more commercial rnb crap, like dre's latest productions :(

Have you heard "Who the fuck is 50 cent?"

Of course, Im sure Dr. Dre can make gritty beats to. Dr. Dre won't be the only producer. All this really means is more playtime for Raekwon.
Can't wait to hear Raekwon on the radio again.
