View Full Version : Detox NOT Dre's last album
RedScare 07-01-2003, 03:45 PM On Hiphopdx.com they reported last week that Eminem said in an interview that Detox will NOT be Dre's last album. But since it was last weeks news I cant find a link to the story... Maybe one of yall could put it up if you find it.
Justin 01-09-2004, 08:46 PM He's got a new CD out? I thought his last one he published was in like 2001
no it hasn't hit yet, sometime in 04 though
lol but chronic 2001 hit in 99
Justin 01-09-2004, 11:22 PM Oh Finally. Damn I thought he quit rapping. He used to be the best and stuff. Glad to know hes coming back finally.
ElecTriK ShocKs 01-10-2004, 04:59 AM damn he should retire ... he wack
.Inphinite. 01-10-2004, 01:11 PM ^^He should stick to producing...
Multiplaxed, 01-10-2004, 01:22 PM He should make more albums, he's dope.
Uzi-Man 01-15-2004, 05:43 PM dre's still good, producin'. he said his new album is gon' be like a west-coast block party, which sounds good. but he should retire from rap, he's too lazy, if his new album isn't gon' be his last, then when the hell is he gon' drop a later one? he's gonna die of old age before he drops two more albums.
the chronic 1994
2001 - 2000
detox - 2004 (supposedly)
damn lazy bitch, 10 years - 3 albums? jigga dropped his last 3 within 2 years flat (blueprint, blueprint-2 (was a double cd) & black album).
and don't any of y'all try and defend him and say he's been busy, i hardly think production on 2 eve drops, 2 xzibit, 1 g-unit, 2 50cent, 1 mary j track is hard work. look at pharell, within the last couple of years, he's prodcued the clipse album & the neptunes clones album (about 13 joints per album), 'bout 6 jigga tracks, timberlake joints, britney, n.o.r.e., birdman, luda, snoop, etc...
he's hasn't been busy, he's just a perfectionist. i'm still waitin for him to drop rakim and hittman's album. but he should have plenty of hittman in detox, he never does a song solo.
"comin and stompin its Hitt from Bronstein, in collaboration with dre from Compton, uhhh i came to say a little somethin....HITTMAN"
and that punch boob gif is awesome haha
Oblivion 01-30-2004, 09:32 AM look at pharell, within the last couple of years, he's prodcued the clipse album & the neptunes clones album (about 13 joints per album), 'bout 6 jigga tracks, timberlake joints, britney, n.o.r.e., birdman, luda, snoop, etc...
^^ yes, but Pharrel is bullshit. Every Neptune beat is tha same gay, beepy zang cheesy sounding piece of shit not worth listening to. FACT
And i am looking forward to a new Dre album - new beats + he should have a lot of features (like on 2001), which means new Eminem/D12/Xzibit/RBX/Busta hopefully, and more
PZ>
Paul Robinson 02-02-2004, 07:18 AM ^^^^^^^yeah exactly ......he did the movie soundtrack to bad boys 2... more than 1 G-UNIT song and a lot of co-production on other not-so commercial stuff. plus compare a beat like in tha club with any neptunes beat..he takes his time but the outcome is usually top-class biatch.
str8khlr 02-03-2004, 02:35 AM dre's still good, producin'. he said his new album is gon' be like a west-coast block party, which sounds good. but he should retire from rap, he's too lazy, if his new album isn't gon' be his last, then when the hell is he gon' drop a later one? he's gonna die of old age before he drops two more albums.

what you forgot to include --> 3 eminem albums, obie trice album, d12 first album and in january did tracks for d12's new album, tracks for knoc turnal's album, single for training day movie, did the soundtrack to movie 'the wash', a couple of tracks on one of the no-limit snoop albums, he's also done tracks with barry manalone for his final album, now he's done tracks for the game and stat quo, plus him and mel did tracks for rakim and tracks for jiggas last album that didn't go nowhere but still took time to do
other thing to remember is he spent like 1/2 a million and a year or two working hiis ass off working with hitman, king t, all these artists that were gonna blow up, but never did and that almost lost him his deal with interscope, but along came eminem and saved him.
plus, dre's made like 75 million in the past 5 years, so you know, urgency to release work is gonna kind of slip...
Uzi-Man 02-03-2004, 06:24 AM ObLiViOn, krY-SiZ & str8khlr are typical commercial rap fans, i mean real hiphop heads know the difference between laziness and hard work. only eminem style fans don't have a clue what's goin' on. they'll defend em, dre, d-12 and all the bullshit like that to death.
oblivion you're an idiot, dre onl executively produced em's albums, d-12's album, the wash soundtrack, etc... he did not produce every song on all them albums. that's a significant difference. he might of only produced a couple of songs of each of those. that's lazy. and i was talkin' really about the last few years (3 or 4), and u tryin' toi mention old old shit like b please, b please 2, just dippin', year2000, etc...
and like i said doin' the odd track for a soundtrack doesn't constitute hard work, wow he produced two track for the wash, wow he pro'd one track for bad boy soundtrack.
the difference is pharrell produced every track on the neptunes presents the clones, every track on lord willin' (clipse), every track on the NERD album, near enough every track on timberlakes & kelis' stuff, plus the odd songs here and there like birdman, luda, cnn, jigga, etc...
whether u like pharrell or not, he works hard on producin', all his beats the same??? someone please tell me b please, b please2 & bad guys always die aren't the same beat exactly. someone tell me that mary j song and the game don't wait (warren g) - aren't the same beats.
kry-sis says no neptunes beat comes close to in da club? first off, that's nowhere near his best beat, and the beat for "what happened to that boy", is better than the in da club beat.
dr dre is a lazy fuck, u cannot defend the un-defendable, when the facts are so clear, y'all love dre, fair enough, but he's lazy everyone knows that. please don';t make out he's busy, don't make out he's underground, quit wit the bullshit. i reckon dre would admit he's lazy, but he's prob got decent excuses, lookin' after his kids or whatever, but he's hardly prolific on the production scene.
dj premier the best producer of all time, the most hardest working of all time, 1985-now, he's produced hundreds of hundreds of songs
str8khlr 02-04-2004, 02:48 AM You see laziness, I see a smart businessman. Of course dre does basically no actual studio work, of course he uses ghost producers, ghost writers and has basically robbed nearly everybody hes done business with, but at the level he's at, theres more to production than just looping a sample. All you do is find a kid with some heat, put him on a crap production contract, and when he's got no more heat to offer, you go find another one. You think dre wanted to be in the game for 20 years and be still cutting tracks so he could tell himself that he was true to the fans??? They all got in the game to get paid, not work to get grey hair, so he's apparently doing nothing and at the same time making more money than anybody else so he must be playing the game better than anybody else.

^^^ fucking rookie
yes i do like commercial rap music.... but you don't have a fucking clue what your're going on about oblivion has been rapping for about to years and you only have to peep his audios to see that he is seriously into it and knows what its about...you clearly don't...you think you know about what dre does but don't know the co-production isn't any less work..and you saying "he might of only produced a few songs" makes you look really clever ;)
R*O*Y*C*E 02-06-2004, 07:46 AM Uzi u spot on Premier is the Greatest producer of all time,,
Oh yeah and some1 said they were waiting for Rakims on Dres label..
No Go Rakim Left him,,,
RedScare 02-20-2004, 03:09 PM Uzi, you overanalyze this shit too much. Who cares if Dre is "lazy" or "hardworkin"? He still makes some of the dopest beats around. And how the hell can you say "What Happened Too That Boy" had a better beat than "In Da Club" - if thats true than why was practically every street mixtape of 2003, sampling that beat OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! (to the point where it annoyed the fuck outta me). Even r&b singers were sampling it what the fuck!! And Dre made some great beats for the GUnit album too. And I dont see how hes repeatin beats either, thats just plain bullshit. The "Game Dont Wait" Remix beat doesnt sound anything like the Mary J Blige beat except for the fact that the same sounding instruments are used. DR. DRE FOR PRESIDENT!!!! DRE!! DRE!! DRE!!!
--ROYCE-- 03-24-2004, 09:08 PM sorry to burst your bubble but dre is not even going to finish detox. he will make no new album. he is going to work on other peoples projects on shady/aftermath
Da Criminal 03-29-2004, 03:06 PM I heard he cancelled his album
.Inphinite. 03-29-2004, 04:57 PM All rumors...
*shrug*
Death Bed 03-31-2004, 07:52 AM Then all the sudden you hear his single and your like YOU TRICKED US..but really what's dre got to talk about...nuttiin he gon be like"you know who it is,I produced eminem and 50 cent"...but some how it's addictive..
RedScare 04-02-2004, 12:06 PM I named the thread right - Detox is not Dre's last album. 2001 was, cuz he abandoned Detox.
FiRON 04-05-2004, 08:22 PM was stat quo supposed to make his debue on Detox?
greenbum 04-12-2004, 09:14 AM it cant be his last album. he has only releaed 2 sole albums. but they were 2 of the best albums ever
*3tB* 04-12-2004, 02:47 PM he's not making detox........he says all he wants to do is produce
he gave his beats away for the cd to 50 and em
lawdka0z 04-15-2004, 03:47 AM why is it that other producer's seem to be able to archieve the same levels of perfection as dre in half the time?
i mean, dre makes some phat beats, but theres a shitload of other good producers out there (like the ones that worked on DMX's - its dark and hell is hot)

DRE KICK'S ASS Uzi you have no right to question the LEGEND!!!!!!! DR. DRE FOR PRESIDENT!!!! DRE!! DRE!! DRE!!! :) I can't wait till Detox comes out and you better believe that it will be the most advanced Rap album EVER!!!!!!!!
is the album coming out....they metion it in one of eminem's song on his enocore reocrd...it's called encore with 50 and dre
JamieF 02-13-2005, 09:06 PM dre's still good, producin'. he said his new album is gon' be like a west-coast block party, which sounds good. but he should retire from rap, he's too lazy, if his new album isn't gon' be his last, then when the hell is he gon' drop a later one? he's gonna die of old age before he drops two more albums.
