As long as better music is coming out I could care less if New York comes back. I'm straight with Lupe, Common, and Kanye dominating the game in '06.

I'm from nYc and I couldn't care less where good Hip-Hop comes from either. Chicago consistently puts out dope shit, Detroit, Toronto, LA, Philly, nYc, etc... (not Kanye - he sucks)

My problem is that people's perspectives of what good Hip-Hop is has evolved to something warped and mindless - e.g., Lil Flip, TI, Paul Wall, Mike Jones and the rest of this trash. There are many forces as to why this is happening but that's a completely different topic.

Peace

I do not care where Hip-Hop comes from as long as it is strong lyrically. The South is not strong lyrically, so yes, it's trash. There are some exceptions but I'm speaking in general terms here. Another words, you can't label the South dope if 8 out of 10 MC's rap wack like Paul Wall.

Of course NYC has its share of wack MC's, Jay-Z, P-Diddy, Maino, Foxxy, Nore, etc. The point is there are a lot more nice MC's than there are wack ones.

What it is illegal to say that or something, lmao

Nah for real, I agree about how alot of souths emcee's sound the same, but still, to label the entire region as non-lyrical talent is a mistake, because as a fact, there actually is cats with lyrics outta there like K-RINO for instance, one of the earliest southern rappers that existed in hiphop quite actually. The problem is, when its cats like Dem Franchize Boys that are all over media and radio, it makes ppl refuse to believe that the south does have lyrical talent, cuz its not seen like that on the spot.......So therefore, its not complete trash, dont take what you see literally around the airwaves whene theres more underrated talent down there than the average person knows. Its because of usually the snap music bs thats making it harder for overlooked talent to get some exposure and recognition, or proper recognition......lIKE I said, cats like K-RINO is proof the south has talent:
Just chek out the 'Four Minute Warning' track on there especially.

Im just saying, you sounded like you contracdicted yourself by saying, u dont care where any hiphop comes from, but then u say the south is trash. Thats tellin me you havent heard much on the south @ all and that youre somewhat biased and are takin sides here. If New York has its share of wack emcee's, what makes the south any different? South has its share of plenty wack shit, but there is talent in the region, usually its independent. Artists like K-RINO, TRAE, Z-RO, SCARFACE and all of that who have diversity in their music would prove my point
