If anyone would hop off XXL dick and copped the new Source they would have saw that in the record report section they had new rappers comment on classic albums. Well Joe Budden was the critic for Blueprint and he specifically says he will pick Blueprint over Reasonable Doubt any day. He claims that Jay is more seasoned and mature on this album which is obvious but would you really pick Blueprint over Reasonable Doubt i mean Rd is just so fuckin' clever and mindblowing. I like both albums Blueprint is a classic but Reasonable Doubt is a classic among classics, right up there with Illmatic. Reasonable Doubt is a man among boys when it comes to great albums so give me yall opinions is Joey right?
Interesting....

I feel Joe Buddens on that. Well, sort of. To me Reasonable Doubts was better if you're thinking in a street sense. But as far as lyricism goes, Blueprint 2 was Jay Z at his best.
"I'm so far ahead of my time I'm 'bout to start another life/ Look behind you, I'm 'bout to pass you twice!/ Back to the future, gotta slow up for the present I'm fast/ Niggas can't get passed my past"
------Sick as fuck!
So i feel was Joe was saying, but I think he should have said BluePrint2. Cause 2 blew 1 out the water. "Meet the Parents", "Blueprint2" "It was all a Dream", "Intro" on The Curse, ...etc..

Yea I feel what he is sayin' and I can understand what he means, but I still prefer Reasonable Doubt, you're right, it's a classic up there with Illmatic. And about Blueprint two, I wasnt feelin that at all, I only like a few tracks such as Meet The Parents and Show How Some Way with Scarface. It was nuttin special.

Jay's RD record was 10x better then bp2. RD might be he's best shit. if you look at it lyricly think about the other records that came out around that time...
BP2 was bullshit, i really thought Jay was done but I'm feel'n him on all the mix tape shit and his S. shit

Joe Budden? Maybe Im killin the RD and BP2 discussion but I gotta say this. Heres my opinion on Joe Budden... I havent really checked out any of his shit (except Pump it up which I thinks ass). So im not about to call him wack or anything like that. But to me, he seems like a product. If theres one word to describe a few of the newer rappers like Fabolous and Joe Budden its "Formula":
Step One: Discover and Sign the rapper
Step Two: Have a Dj which is also signed to your record label put him on a few mixtapes to artificially create street cred (**hint** *hint** **hint** DJ Clue **hint**)
Step Three: make an album and a corny radio single
Step Four: Put in the sunlight and occasionally water
Step Five: Empty contents into boiling water and stir
Step Six: Throw $ to Mtv and Bet to keep afloat
Step Seven: Caution! Cook PopTart on lowest toaster setting!
Step Eight: Enjoy!!!!
Call me old fashioned but I appreciate a rapper that paid their dues. The reason rappers like Joe Budden arent gonna last is cuz they dont have a solid fanbase - cuz they never really paid their dues. You know slowly buildin a solid fan base on the underground circuit. Shit like that. 50s success on the mixtape circuit + DJs like KaySlay and Clue signin wit labels = Hiphops landscape changin for the worse....
