I hope this dont come wrong, but it seems like on all the forums i've been on, the majority of white people on these forums like conscience rappers like Common and shit. First it was Kayne, who imo is terrible but it seems like people like him because he is a wanna be common (THat nigga kayne is a fake ass conscience rapper). Now every bodies jumping off his dick and is hoping on lupes'. And its wierd to me because i like common, black star is one of my fav LP. But Why do so many white people like these niggas, i mean do yall really understand what Some one like talib is saying, or Common, im mean if you really aint never live in the hood, an i say that not to sound Ganster or what ever, i say it because it is really a struggle, and if you never been throught that styruggle that so many rapper talking about how can you relate. ANd i know imma get alot of "white people, and people from different races go through struggles too; so maby i should rephrase it.... ITs not about race its about class.... If you never had that struggl then how can you relate?????

(PS and the comments about lupe was just thrown in there because he suck ass)

Music is Music .. I mean its like Rock its not like they relate to all the stuff in that eg drugs, sex & rock n roll .. But some do . Anyways alot of white people listen to rap because of beats not necessaryily the lyrics . Rap did originate from Jazz . Speaking of Jazz that is mostly preformed/sung by African Americans the lyrics express things about woman and the major audience for this genre is White people .

So yeh this didnt answer your question but it is still something to be considered

People can relate to something on so many levels,
if you lose a friend or family member to violence in tha hood someone else could lose a friend to a drunk driver, they relate through loss from a senseless act even though they lives might be different.

First, good question...
Im from Slovenia, Ljubljana, im white and i listen mostley rap. Here we dont have ghetto or someting like that, but yust three days ago one crazey maniak run out of a club and started to shoot and hit some gays behine them. The same shit is evereywhere you go, but mostley in US. I like rap, but its not that we are relating to that, we siply take that. That dude runed out from a club where rap is played.
Second, rap is like joint. First you started with R&B, than 50 cent, Nas, Onyx, and so on...
Third, if you secided in rap you will be hapey for every person who bought your CD, probably even more than black person.

No hard felings i yust connect my brains and fingars... :smoke:

98% of people on erth will struggle at one point...
I know a girl who has a richer family then me, yet both her rents are dead...
I know people who've been bullied day in day out all their lives...

im indian and i prefer conscience rap over most radio played rap. i havent gone through the "struggle" but i like rappers like talib, common, mos etc. becuase they can actually rhyme. and all of thier music isnt about the struggle they rap about so many things.

i think lupe is great.
