i've been wanting to store music files outside of my computer just incase it gets raped with a virus someday, and from what i hear an external hard drive is the best thing to get. anyone have any suggestions on good ones i could buy?

Don't get one unless you plan to travel with it. It is only virus-safe if you disconnect it from your computer, which you probably not plan to do each time you don't use it? If you just want to use it as backup storage, and keep it under your bed or something, then yeh.. why not. Otherwise get a second internal one.

i got an external one jus in case i got to travel with it, when ever i download a software, music, movies i jus save them on there so when i format my computer i dont have to download the things i already had

lol but if u got an internal one it wouldnt take up and space because it would be inside you tower

i can live with clutter lol. i just couldnt be arsed to fiddle around with the tower to fit the internal HD in that's all, i'm lazy like that.

yo i have a question, if you get an external hard drive and you put all your music on it, can you run itunes through it and do all the ipod stuff through jsut that so you can free up space on the regular internal PC one?
