To get rid of all the shit u dont need..clean it up n make it a bit faster again...or is it mainly just a good old fashioned deleteathon...

the way i do it, is first off delete stuff i don't need, uninstall programs i don't use anymore, then do a disk cleanup.. then a defrag.. and if that still aint much help, go into msconfig, and disable programs you don't need running

I set my computer to auto clean ever time i either shut down or restart, and it only takes up to 4 minutes...

Virus clean.
Defrag
Clean Disk
Clear History & Cache.
Run Scandisk

Mate, that virus's and spyware that you catch from porn sites is impossible to get rid of fully. It might go for a week or something but then it'll be back. It would be better if you reformatted the whole thing, if she has any important data, back that up first and reformat it.

yeh there is no important data..we put all her formal photo's ect that she wanted..but apart from that..nothin important..so ima reboot n reformat it tonight...fuckin limewire and teenage boys dont mix lol..he had a nice porn stash though..was a shame to see it go...i started watchin a few and asked if i could burn a couple and then my gf hit me :( lol..but cheers on the advice boy!!

Just reformat the computer, but have it keep all the files on your hard drive, then go back in and delete the crap.

Well... If you got caught for watching child pornography and warez or something on your comp, and the cops gonna get your harddrive. The best thing to do is ZERO it. You can google it, because I forgot the program. But it turns all your harddrive data to 0's, so annnnnnny thing at all that was in the harddrive, is permentantly deleted.

i did disk cleanup today for the the first time in a logn time

i freed up a gig of space...lol

Usually by the end of a cleanup session, i've gained 10 gigs.

And Decoy, my Disk Cleanup never works. It gets stuck in the middle......... I waited like 13 hours once and it was still in the middle. It does that all the time.

^^my comp sometimes freezes like that too.. or the defrag gets to like 90% and then it says the rest can't be finished..

i only have an 80 gig drive so it doesnt free up much of that thats why it only frees up 1 gig
