I'm pretty much looking heavily into buying a used PSP off of ebay or my local Gamestop... but I'd like to know what version of firmware to get and how it affects the actual console.

I don't own a PSP but I know the first version didn't have the copyrite security so you could DL games onto blank disks instead of buying them. But I bet the newer firmwares have something good about them

1.5 so you can put emulator or such. Or a 2.00 I know how to confuse it and make it a 1.5 again. But if you dont care about old games and are only going to use it for the games in cd upgrade whatever version you have. Any other questions ask.

If you have a version like 1.5, does that mean you can't play some of the newer games?
