View Full Version : great beat, horrible flow
B-Raff 09-23-2006, 09:49 PM this may seem like a weird question, but this just popped into my head while listening to be easy by hot rod: what are some songs that have dope beats, but are lyrically horrible? it's always disappointing to hear a wasted beat
Estate Captain 09-23-2006, 09:58 PM hot rod= the gayest name ever
B-Raff 09-23-2006, 10:00 PM you can say that again... he'll get shelved just like olivia

.ScottishHead 09-23-2006, 11:22 PM everything that 50 has rapped on.
some of the songs on encore.
the mr.hyde album produced by necro had some of the best beats hes made but mr.hyde is a terrible rapper.

The song didn't succeed because of it's lyricism. You may not like the basic ass beat, but half of the world disagrees with you.
D4L - Laffy Taffy
50 Cent - Window Shooper
50 Cent - In Da Club
50 Cent - Disco Inferno
Young Dro - Shoulder Lean
T.I. - Why You Wanna
The list can go on and on and on...
Speak. 09-24-2006, 02:06 AM ^ yung dro aint that bad, jsut isnt good
Bone24 09-24-2006, 02:38 AM Lyrics and flow are different.

Sp3aker 09-24-2006, 06:06 PM halfway thugs - noreaga
the beat is fucking amazing, but nore just cant spit
AkAdEmiX 09-24-2006, 06:23 PM lol alot of u people like some pretty soft ass beats, the lyrics suit that kinda queer kiddy shit
overSkill 09-24-2006, 06:26 PM hmm
im gonna say like 95% of southside shit
Plug Zero 09-25-2006, 12:42 AM ^See that's the thing. I might get flamed for this but most of the hip hop coming out of the south not only is garbage lyrically, but also beat-wise. The south has no redeamable qualities. And to everybody, don't take my words so literally... when I say south, I mean the genre of hip hop that can be classed under "south", not the entire southern half of the US. I speak strictly of the genre, but y'all knew that.
I have to disagree with d4l - laffy taffy .......my grandmother could have produced that.

I managed to reproduce the entire beat flawlessly with nothing more than a Adagio KDP-8816 piano.
But when it comes to if you like it or not, it's really just a matter of personal opinion.
