Well, what it is... The Athlon XP processor in the UK has become pretty rare, and virtually no shops on the net stock it here any longer, which bumps up the price of working processors loads.

I built a rig to test some processors, which all turned out to be faulty. Now, instead of selling the rig (it's Socket A - so it's not going to sell for much) I've decided Im going to get a new socket A processor, and obviously want the best one: the 3200+

The thing is, it's £70+ and for a socket A that's expensive as fuck! It doesn't have to be a 3200+ but I'd like the 400Mhz FSB... anyhow, I was wondering if any of the fantastic Americans on this site would be willing to help? What are the best prices in the USA?

Thanks all...

ROSE.

Besides newegg.com...

http://www.pricewatch.com/

I usually go there for final results.

Is that the same as socket 939?

Anyway, I'd check Newegg, Pricewatch, or eBay. If you have Payspark or Paypal, and can transfer me the money, I can buy it for you.

:(.

Socket A and Socket 939 are two different processors.

Socket A is the ancient one, like 8 years old now :) Going retro. The 939 is like the upgrade, and works differently. It's called the 939 cos it has 939 pins, where as the socket A has 462. Almost like a V8 engine, vs a 1 litre metro... or whatever the equivalent.

And Yes, Ike that would be excellent! I'll find the processor I want and send you the link :)

Cheers D Coy, but perhaps you could find the best socket A? lol It's a little before my time, and being slightly older you may remember the best cores? Or the best model: price ratio?
