yo
haha i just got cool edit today wanted to try it out
i recorded a minute long of me spitting on sound recorder
so i went on cool edit n inserted an instrumental beat, and i put my sound recording on top of it but i can never get it to where i want to, it always sounds off beat. i always try once, then its off beat, th en i have to exit both then try again to put it somewhere else on the beat, off beat again, then exit it again then try again etc etc for like half an hour.
is there an easy way where i can put it on beat or some tutorials that anyone knows of that i can look at
all help is appreciated.
peace

^^Word.
Sadly, back in 2003, I did something similar though. I would rap acapella, and then do a "Mix Paste" with a beat. It's because some copies of Cool Edit Pro come and open up in the Edit Waveform view, so if you don't have someone to tell you otherwise, or don't play around, you never really realize there's a Multi-Track view.... at least that was the case for me.
What you need to do, is press the R button. Insert your instrumental on another layer, (it doesn't really matter whether your beat is on the top layer or second layer, whatever. Mine usually goes on top, and I record on the layers below).
Anyway, you need to wear headphones when you record so your mic doesn't pick up the instrumental that you're rapping with.
