I need a reasonably priced AGP card, like £100 max. Which is best..? ANy thoughts?

Don't bother with the higher spec ATI 9800XT, go for the 9800Pro . You can flash it to turn thr 9800pro into a 9800XT, so that'd be free.

Looking at the prices on ebay, looks like the cards are selling for £20. It's a bargin, since I bought mine for £150 (2 years ago). :(

What are you expecting todo with the pc, play games? Because if that's the case, you should go with the Nvidia card. The ATI 9800Pro is good if your just gonna use windows and play DVDs.

Lol, I can't find a decent nvidia card, and the 6 series (6600 etc) is buggy as shit...

It's got to be able to play games, definitely, but only on a 17" monitor... (it's for downstairs, so my little brother can play etc (he's 12)) Good AGPs are hard to find. And I dont wanna spend loads, like 30 - 40 tops.. second hand of course.

The 9800pro was the best graphics card of it's time. Only the 7800gtx could beat it and that came out like 2 years later.

yeah, if that's the case, get the ATI 9800pro from ebay :D . I played Half Life 2 with it and the graphics looked amazing.

That's exactly what i've recently done :) Even Oblivion on the XBOX 360 isn't impressive after that IMO

P.S. Adinath, don't buy any PC things at all! The core quadro's coming out soon, so it'll push all of the processors down in price, and also, the DX10's are coming out soon, (direct X 10) which will put all the prices down for graphics... it's a bad time to buy PC shit if you wanna keep your investments.

Just reading the thing... very useful, I was just about to get one of them and I woulda beem screwed trying to get the XT with the wrong model... lol - Denz
