Def. like Nirvana. Their music is timeless. Sounds just as fresh today as it did when they were makin the music. They used to tour with Sonic Youth back in the day. I like them too.

I'm starting to like them even more...altough some time Kurt annyos the hell outta me with his screaming...MTV Unplugged is an album that shows they can really play their instruments in a non-noisy way...and Kurt really has a good singing voice...you can feel his feeling, he sings with emotion and passion..."The Man Who Sold The World" has to be one of their best songs IMO.

Nirvana are good.

Teen Spirit and Come As You Are, are two of the greatest tracks I've ever heard in my life.

I'm not really into grunge myself but I do really like Nirvana, they did put grunge on the map as well.

I think The Foo Fighters are a better band,
Nirvana are good though i just can't get into Kurt,

And as grunge goes i like Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins better aswell.

I love the early 90's genre, more alternative over grunge. But, not to disrespect any Nirvana fans, but they are like the Biggie/Pac of their time.

Now, I like Nivvana a lot. But, Nirvana wasn't legend material, they weren't any better IMO than like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, ect. Smells Like Teen Spirit is a bit overplayed and overrated. The death of Kurt kinda brought them a bit more respect and elevated them IMO.

On a Plain, Polly, Dumb and Heart Shaped Box are all classics in my book... :)

Agree with what you're saying apart from that Cobains death brought them more respect. Nevermind (even though I think In Utero was better) propelled them into the limelight and made Nirvana pretty much a household name before Cobains death. They are kinda like grunges biggie/pac, lotta people probably only got into them because of his death.

All songs you mentioned are class, In Bloom, Come as You Are and All Apologies are also legendary.

As far as musical skill went, no...Nirvana were not any better than pearl jam, alice in chains, or sound garden...infact the were probably worse.

BUT! Once again, Ill argue this for nirvana, like I argue it for pac. Nirvana wrote catchy appealing songs, that a lot more people could get into than those other bands, followed closely by pearl jam. And they had Kurt Cobain fronting the band. Thats important. People love to see a front man like that. He brought character to the music, and people just liked Kurt Cobain. He was a celebrity, and didn't even try to be, because he just had that natural appeal that worked. He also had a very unique voice for that time, that hadn't been heard before. Nirvana and Kurt brought that style to the forefront, and thats why they are appreciated today.

You gotta have appeal to be a legend...its not always solely about the music in today's industry, and there is nothing wrong with that. Kurt had more to offer than just music.
