That book puttin me to sleep *Toby* 02-20-2007, 02:31 AM nigga that book is a classic, i read it in 8th grade both times i was in it ( lmao) basically to sum it up... Racism..."walk in another persons skin and see what life is like from there view" all from the point of view of the boy and his sis Scout. And they are young and naive and dont understand things but they grow up quick. .epic. 03-27-2007, 10:34 PM how thw fuck could you fall asleep to that shit, that book is dopeness. TtotheY787 03-27-2007, 10:53 PM Well its not really the book im talkin bout. More the teacher. What i really need is similies and metaphors and shit like that in the book. This teacher is a complete ass. One of my boys said "Damn, i can see like.... 6 roles through ya shirt." She said "I'm givin you your football number for this quarter." At the end of the second quarter..........he got a 29% SomethingAwfl 03-28-2007, 11:12 PM sparknotes??? It has summaries and analysis of each chapter. It also has stuff like themes, motifs, and character research. De.Cor.Um 03-28-2007, 11:17 PM Yea...U Didnt Try Sparknotes?? ZOMG 03-30-2007, 03:04 PM damn i wish we'd studied it. we got kestrel for a knave instead. fucking 1920's shit :( but my friend studies it n he was tellin me its about racism n how society deal with it. sounds dope. The Sage 04-07-2007, 09:08 PM That was a great book i finished on the first day i started .Inphinite. 04-11-2007, 10:05 PM Fuck getting the DVD (Denz's bad influence. Smh). Read the damn book and appreciate its greatness. Denz 04-12-2007, 07:06 AM Fuck getting the DVD (Denz's bad influence. Smh). Read the damn book and appreciate its greatness. It's all about efficiency. The dude is probably gonna have to write an essay about it. That can easily be done by watching the DVD which will take 2 hours and then filling the obvious gaps with his own general knowledge from that period. It's all about beating the system. :shifty: ~Damien~ 04-13-2007, 10:43 AM 1. Wait, you're reading this book now?!? I read that in my first year of Middle School. This is why I've lost faith in the educational system of this country.. 2. Denz's idea is the most efficient. The movie, as boring as it is, will provide the same visuals & relatively similar underlyin' idiosyncacies you'd get by reading.. all in a much shorter amount of time (soley dependent on the rate you read).. ~1ne .Inphinite. 04-13-2007, 09:01 PM The film is no way near as great as the book. And, I persume, the film won't have all of the important metaphors and descriptions that are in the book OR they will be there but not as noticable. ~DamienX~ 04-16-2007, 11:48 AM ...they will be there but not as noticable.. ..I think that may explain it. I watched the movie after I read it so I knew what to look for, but if he's just reading it for the sake of an assignment and not for edification, then I don't think he cares too much.. ~1ne CDoc 08-07-2007, 01:46 AM I read this book last year in class, unfortenetly I did not like the book n my reading grades showed that TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD IS A SHITTY BOOK!!! I hated it, it was way too hard to read n it made no sense n the book was borin n gay, n I did use sparknotes but that site didn't help me! *Toby* 08-07-2007, 03:23 AM Thats b/c ur 14 and u didnt take time to use LOGIC and figure it out. Go shoot urself. Thats a great book. Anybody who is over 11 should have no prob reading it. It uses obvious vocab, its not difficult to understand CDoc 08-07-2007, 03:33 PM ^yea proboly I'm just too lazy to read it n learn the logic of the book PAX DECEPTICVS 08-07-2007, 04:51 PM A bit late, but here's an audiobook torrent to it: http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3326896 And To Kill A Mockingbird didn't really do much for me.
