I never said I dont like them, but saying juelz and ti and wayne being honarable metions?, I know everyone is entitled to an opinion. In my opinion he basically doesnt know anything about hip hop, saying they are better than BDK, Kool G Rap and KRS, but yea its my opinion so fuck off
Bone24 03-11-2007, 05:22 PM I'm sorry, but saying T.I. is better than Common is not an opinion, it's a fallacy.
.
...AKeliz... 03-11-2007, 06:00 PM I'm sorry, but saying T.I. is better than Common is not an opinion, it's a fallacy.

Haha, exactly what I was thinking......Where is Common Sense, Talib Kweli, Pharoah Monch, fuck, most of your list is southern shit.....I'm from the South and I am disgraced at the shit that gets airplay down here.....If you wanna bang a southern artist, put Scarface......Where in the FUCK is Face???
None of those southern homo's would even wanna be a rapper if Face wasn't kicking them the game when they was little kids..........
I get along good with you man, not this list tho.....lol............
Opinions are opinions tho..............
greenNINJA 03-11-2007, 08:09 PM i think eminem is number 1,the rest of the list is tricky

Aight Wayne isn't "The best rapper alive" like he claims but I gotta give credit where it's due. Dude is hot even tho he was trained by a good ass philly rapper he still nice. O yeah & ya math is way wrong if you think he has one hot punch line every ten songs.

Bizzy deserves to at least make a Top 10 spot for rapping skills alone. His solo albums show his more emotional, lyrical side that many people here have yet to hear.

here is a top 10 with reasons i made a while back and posted it elsewhere so i just copy and pasted here.
1. Tupac --- all that quality and quantity is amazing and he had time to write a movie and star in 7 movies all in less than 6 years. hundreds of songs and nobody wants him to go away so there will be a new pac album every year until the end of time probably and they all are atleast platinum by now. all eyez on me and makaveli plus extra tracks all written within 1 months time. 2 diamond best hip hop albums written within 1 months time. biggie said himself one time when they hung out pac went to take a shit and wrote 2 tracks. fuckkin amazing. and pac is the ONLY rapper ever who has truly timeless music and his lyrics are so deep and so emotional everyone no matter color or sex or whatever everyone can relate to his lyrics. he's been dead over 10 years and he STILL is the best selling rapper of all time. also pac is the realist and probably ONLY real rapper out. he said he hates cops he shot cops. pac said he'd whip ass and kicked many peoples ass in public. if he said it on a track he'd do it. kool g rap hung with pac and said they drove in the hood and pac bust out his gun and shot at a store just thuggin.
2. Kool G Rap --- probably most consistent rapper out. 1st real lyricist, helped in creating gangster rap. created mafioso rap. he has the best flow and still is sick on the mic. hes responsible for papoose, saigon & joell ortiz the new generation. he was biggies and big pun's inspiration and without kool g rap biggie and big pun would never be rappers. big pun actually got down on one knee and kissed kool g raps ring and called him "god of rap" in public. chino xl went garbage picking after kool g rap throw out a rhyme he wrote. and kool g rap helped big daddy kane get a record deal.definately most underrated rapper of all time. also was in juice crew, probably the best rap group of all time with nothing but the best talent.
3. Rakim --- i dont think i need to explain much here everyone knows his impact and lyrical ability and importance. he came slightly after g rap though and g raps flow and swag is nicer.
4. KRS-One --- he probably has the most albums out of any rapper. hes been in the game long and his title fits him "the teacha". he constantly drops massive amounts of knowledge not lyrically the nicest but is a good listen and is a very important figure in hip hop.
5. Big Daddy Kane --- along with g rap and rakim, kane is one of the best lyricist. his word play is too sick. amazing. also was in juice crew.
6. Nas --- i would put him lower but he's still doing his thing strong and has amazing guest appearances and has a few classic albums and has one of the best disses. and some of his tracks are amazing & different & have good messages. he has a good discography too.
7. Big L --- he doesnt have a lot of work out but has 1 sure classic album and the other is a personal classic to me. he is lyrically mad nice. he was part of 2 of hip hops top 5 best groups of all time. children of the corn was amazing and d.i.t.c. is also amazing. so big l was hard at work all around he didnt have much time to work on solos.
8. Big Pun --- easily one of the best lyricists. he had it all multis and amazing crazy lyrics. he was ghostwriting before he started his solo career and when he started every track that big pun was on he killed it and outshined anyone on that track.
9. Scarface --- face basically started southern rap. he has many albums all good. he doesnt sell out and his lyrics are gutter, deep and hard as fuck. hes real and truly king of the south. without face there woudnt be southern rap. atleast it wouldnt be the same. with all his albums he still was head of geto boys, facemob & the product.
10. Notorious B.I.G. --- his work ethic sucked it took him 3 years to make an album and he had no excuses for that and a few of his tracks where ghostwritten but he was nice as fuck lyrically and on freestyles. he is overrated. but id say hes worthy of a top 10. his topics where nothing special he was using kool g raps swag and he was a fake thug too his mommy even said biggie was a good boy and spoiled he just wanted to hang on the streets. but he had great talent and inspired many rappers. also biggie wasnt as original as the other 9 i named above and not as important or made an impact like the other 9. he was just a great lyricist. but he did make an impact and this generation.
let the crying and bitching and hating begin...

who you want me to put? those are the best rappers. if you want me to put my fav it would be totally diff. i put top 10 goat not top 10 fav. thi sthread asked for top 10 doa not fav.
propro 08-28-2007, 09:18 PM I'm just gonna do a top 5, cant be bothered with ten.
1: Wu tang clan- I don't care if its 9 people, they the greatest rap group ever with the most classics ever when you count solos. Influenced a lot of underground acts too imo.
2: Nas- Atleast 4 classic albums
3. Big L- I don't care about what anyone says about not having many songs, he had the best voice and my fav style
4: 2Pac- Although I feel his impact is extremely overrated, I like most of his albums and songs, so he is a legend
5: Notorious BIG

jbbj1515 08-29-2007, 10:19 AM 1. Big Pun
2. Nas
3. G Rap
4. Common
5. Eminem
6. Ghostface
7. Jay-Z
8. Talib Kweli
9. Biggie
10. AZ
i was pretty reluctant to include Jay-Z, but he does deserve a spot on here. I made this list in about 30 seconds without too much thought involved, I'm sure it would be different if I decided to really scientifically analyze this album or that rhyme, but I don't feel like it.
Also, I only took into account each rapper's pure rhyming talent. My list has nothing to do with who was the most influential or important or anything of that nature, because that's what I interpret this thread to be asking for.
pHoLL 08-29-2007, 12:51 PM Here's my top ten. It changes every week or so. I'm fickle like that.
MF DOOM
Eminem
Rakim
One Be Lo
GZA
KRS-One
Andre 3000
Del
2Pac
Q-Tip
Joros 08-29-2007, 01:01 PM 1. Rakim
2. Nas
3. Kool G Rap
4. Common
5. Big Daddy Kane
6. Ghostface Killah
7. Talib Kweli
8. Mos Def
