Welcome to RapWorlds' Topical Tournament VI, run by Rowe, -Flat--Line-, and ZuLou for the year 2007. In order for this tournament to execute in the smoothest way possible, we need to make a couple of things clear.
If you are a new member, please make sure you have made at least 25 posts on this site. This is absolutely essential, since I will be sending PMs to participants to remind them of upcoming battles and such. If you have less than 25 posts on RW, the system will not allow you to send nor receive PMs. In short, please get your post count up as soon as possible.
The Tournament will have 24 participants, and will be single-elimination. The image below should help illustrate how it will be run:

Thus, the first round will be a Preliminary Round to see who makes it into the First Round. Only 16 people will participate in the Preliminary Round. The 8 people who emerge from that round will engage the remaining 8 people to see who makes it into the Quarter Finals, and so on, and so on. For a further explanation on the tournament brackets, feel free to PM me.
For each round, there will be Line Limits so that none of the rounds take up too much time.
Preliminary Round: 40 Lines
Round One: 60 Lines
Quarter Finals: 60 Lines
Semi Finals: 80-100 Lines
Finals: Unlimited
ALL DUE DATE TIMES WILL BE AT MIDNIGHT EST OF THE APPOINTED DATE. I stress this because there might be a time when a mod might accidentally put 12 PM EST, which is noon. So let it be known that if ever such a mistake is made, the mod meant 12 AM EST. All times will be run on US Eastern Time. See www.timezoneconverter.com if you need help figuring out what time that is in your region.
We will attempt to give each round 10 days to complete, much like how the Topical League was run. There will be 2 days to check in, 3 days to post, and five days for votes. Anyone who protests that 3 days is too short for anyone to write a topical verse, please take note that if you check in as early as possible, that is a total of 5 days for you to ink a verse. We will, however, be lenient during the Semi-finals and Finals, taking into consideration the lengths of those verses. During those last two rounds, topicalists will be given 5 days to post, and battles will not be closed until a winner has finally been reached.
There will be no late check-ins allowed. Checking in is not a hard task. All that is needed is for the participant to post in his battle thread. If you can't manage to do that in two days, you will be eliminated, no ifs, ands or buts.
Late verses will only be accepted if your opponent approves it. If you post a late verse, your opponent has the option to take the win by default. But if he wants to continue the battle, your verse will be counted, and votes can continue as well. The only round that this rule does not take effect in will be the Finals round.
TO AVOID POSTING LATE, OPPONENTS MAY PM ME THEIR VERSES BEFORE IT IS DUE.
HOOK CAN BE INCLUDED, THEY DON'T COUNT AGAINST YOUR LINES, AS WELL AS DIALOGUE. JUST DONT MAKE IT EXCESSIVE.
The Winner of each battle will be the first to 5 votes (4-1 TKO...3-0 KO)
Votes should be done with the following categories:
ON TOPIC
DEPTH
IMAGERY
ORIGINALITY
FLOW
MULTIS
VOCAB
Followed by a short paragraph explaining why you voted for the person that you chose.
Each participant must vote AT LEAST TWICE. Although there will not be a postcount limit for voters, dishonest or half-done votes will be discounted.
Additional information will be posted later.
