Common’s Finding Forever Dropping Soon 5/3/07
By: The Dance
New information has surfaced about Common’s upcoming album entitled Finding Forever. A private listening party was recently held in Los Angeles for about 15 people with Kanye and Common included in the attendance. 11 tracks off of the new album were played and Common and Kanye talked about each song after it was played. Here’s the short version (these tracks are not in album order):
1. “The People” ft. Dwele, prod. by Kanye West
2. “Black Maybe” ft. Bilal, prod. by Kanye West
3. “I Want You”, prod. by Will.I.Am
4. “Southside” ft. Kanye West, prod. by Kanye West
5. “Drivin Me Wild” ft. Lily Allen, prod. by Kanye West
6. “So Far To Go” ft. D’Angelo, prod. by J Dilla
7. “Break My Heart”, prod. by Kanye West
8. “The Game” ft. DJ Premier, prod. by Kanye West
9. “Start The Show” ft. Kanye West, prod. by Kanye West
10. “Misunderstood”, prod. by Devo Springsteen
11. “Forever Begins”, prod. by Kanye West.
As you can see, the vast majority of the songs are produced by Kanye, and he’s also the only rapper featured on the album so far (Common says that he’s still looking to put more tracks on the album). Some other things to note are that “So Far To Go” is also on Dilla’s The Shining, and Devo Springsteen is Kanye’s cousin and worked with Kanye to produce “Diamonds (from Sierra Leone)” and “Too High” for John Legend, super. This album looks like it has potential to be even better that BE, and Common’s branching out even more than before working with artists like Lily Allen (his version of Kanye’s Adam Levine). Finding Forever is slated for a July 10th release and I’m pretty excited. How can I tell? My nipples are hard, of course.
