View Full Version : Songs where one MC "murders them on their own track"
Tommy Bunz 06-16-2007, 08:33 PM I was recently listening to Jedi Mind Tricks "Servants in Heaven, Kings In Hell" cd again and listened to the track where RA the Rugged Man just murders the song with one of the best verses I've ever heard in my life.
So list the songs where one good MC seriously outshines another talented MC (don't post songs where one rapper is seriously shit, must be songs where both artists have real talent)
Obvious ones:
RA the Rugged Man on Jedi Mind Tricks' Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story
Eminem on Jay-z's Renegades
Canibus on Lost Boyz' Beasts from the East
Eminem on Patiently Waiting
Eminem on Whats the Difference
Common on Respiration
Andre Benjamin (not 3000) on Goodie Mob's Thought Process
Andre 3000 on International Players Anthem (UGK)
Lil Flip on Welcome to the South (young buck)
Alan Johnson 06-16-2007, 09:27 PM Xzibit on Bitch Please
One of my fav X verse's
I'm the Head Nigga In Charge, I'm watchin you move
You're found dead in your garage, with ten o'clock news covers
Gotta love it, cause I expose the facade
Your little lungs is too small to hotbox with God
All jokes aside, come bounce with us
Standin over you with a twelve gauge, about to bust
It's like ashes to ashes and dust to dust
I might leave in the bodybag, but never in cuffs
So who do you trust? They just not rugged enough
When things get rough I'm in the club shootin with Puff
Bitch, please - you must have a mental disease
Assume the position and get back down on your knees - c'mon
But now that I look back, em's last verse tore it up
Red Gone Wyld 06-16-2007, 10:03 PM i was gonna post a similar topic, altho it wasnt about outshining someone, i was just gonna say post songs where someone featured drops a real dope verse. i got to thinkin of it while listening to Quik's verse on "Buck Bounce" with 8ball and MJG. I love his verse on that cut.
Ghostface's verse on "Tony/Montana" with Cormega is straight deadly, G Rap has a great verse on "Stick to Ya Gunz" with MOP, Cormega on Prodigy's "Three" is ill, Memphis Bleek on "Murder 4 Life" with Ja Rule drops two raw ass verses, Eminem drops the hardest verses on pretty much any song he's featured on, Kool Kieth has a great verse on "Hands On Experience"
i could go on forever i'll add more later i gotta do some stuff right now
SomethingAwfl 06-16-2007, 10:58 PM How did no one name the 7 Minute Freestyle which is not only one of Big L's sickest songs and one of the sickest freestyles period, but he completely shits on Jay-Z's trashy ass verses. Makes him look straight retarded.
Lyrismith 06-16-2007, 11:57 PM diabolic on immortal technique's hidden track, he outshines tech so hard (not compared to the real DWTD song tech does at the start of the track though, that shit is F.I.R.E, serious shiver sending shit)

GhostFaceDre 06-17-2007, 04:58 PM Kanye didn't spit a verse... are you saying that his hook was harder than Cams verses?
Yeah that's my bad man. I think Kanye's hook on the chorus was dope.
elementary 06-17-2007, 05:11 PM Verbal intercourse. Rae and Ghost came hard, but Nas was just amazing. One of my favorite verses of all time.
ReziN 06-17-2007, 05:16 PM Method Man on Got My Mind Made Up by 2pac

GhostFaceDre 06-17-2007, 05:24 PM are u serious dude? 2pac killed that song....
Everyone was dope on that song, but IMO Mef killed it. Plus the beat goes with Meth's flow in it.
ReziN 06-17-2007, 05:47 PM ^^^yea I was just listening to it again and your right.
I just prefered 2pacs verse the most though
Red Gone Wyld 06-17-2007, 07:18 PM How did no one name the 7 Minute Freestyle which is not only one of Big L's sickest songs and one of the sickest freestyles period, but he completely shits on Jay-Z's trashy ass verses. Makes him look straight retarded.

PENIS 06-17-2007, 08:40 PM Method Man on Got My Mind Made Up by 2pac
Thats one of my favorite 2pacs verses of all time... you can't be fuckin serious!!
Noyze 06-17-2007, 08:56 PM Eminem on Jay-z's Renegades
I knew the minute I came in here somebody would name this track because Nas did. But that's fictional. "Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?" Jay actually came nice on it, and that's a cop out since Em is the only guest appearance on the album.
A better example would be "Patiently Waiting." Even a 50 fan has to admit that Em did indeed "murder" that track because the gap between the strength of their verses was more obvious.

To expand on your point, that isnt even really a Jay-Z song, "Renegades" was a song Eminem and Royce did originally before Em signed to Aftermath. Royce's verses in the song are actually on par with Eminem's, unlike Jay-Z's, but I agree Jay's werent as bad as people think, Em's were just way better.
jbbj1515 06-18-2007, 06:08 AM Not sure if anyone mentioned this one yet, but Royce murked Em on Bad Meets Evil.

Yea, I've heard that. You've actually heard a version of that with Em and Royce instead of Em and Jay? If you have it, could you upload it pleeeeeeeeeease?? #-)

I'm so ahead of my time, my parents haven't met yet
even though that makes no sense, wouldnt it be behind time not ahead
lol how do you have so much d-rep
Scrilla 06-18-2007, 04:25 PM ^ probably the same reason that sindecal quote is in ur sig.
I personally feel Eminem gets murdered on both Hellbound and Stir Crazy although they are both some of my favorite Eminem songs.
Stir Crazy he gets murdered by Madd Rapper.
Hellbound he gets murdered by both Masta Ace and J-Black.
2Pac murders them on Thug Luv
Nas murders it on We Major.
Nas murders it on Why You Hate The Game.
The Game in turn murders it on Hustlers IMO.
KRS-ONE killed em all on Classic, but that wasnt really anyones own track.
Kanye kills it on This Way by Dialated Peoples.
On the Diamonds remix Jay-Z murders Kanye.
Ghostface kills Ice Cream although I would put Method Man over all of them despite only being on the hook.
Kanye also got killed on every feature on his first album not including the song with Ludacris. I guess that's what happens when you collab with greats though.
Red Gone Wyld 06-18-2007, 08:42 PM Hellbound he gets murdered by both Masta Ace and J-Black.
wahahaha!!!
"the only key that i see to defeat you would be for me to remove these two adidas and beat you......im so bannanas im showin up to your open casket to fill it full of explosive gasses and close it back wit a lit match in it while i sit back and just hope it catches, blow you to fragments roll you and smoke the ashes"
gets killed by: "everyday i get more older and more colder, fly you to colorado and roll you over with a bolder"
hey, i have a question, do you curl up your wrist and beat it against your chest when you talk because thats kind of how i picture you?
Nickel 06-19-2007, 12:41 AM Ludacris on Nas's "Made You Look (Remix)"
Royce Da 5'9" on Eminem's "Bad Meets Evil"
Jay-Z on Notorious B.I.G.'s "I Love The Dough"
and i know ima get hate for this.....but
Jay-Z on Nas's "Black Republicans"
Scrilla 06-19-2007, 02:18 AM wahahaha!!!

This is coming from the same kid who called the Black Republican Lil' Wayne/Juelz Santana freestyle hot. I don't think you are really in the place to judge my opinion on who killed what.
Brofski 06-19-2007, 05:51 AM I personally feel Eminem gets murdered on both Hellbound and Stir Crazy although they are both some of my favorite Eminem songs.
Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.
Masta Ace's verse is real nice too, but not as good as Eminem's.
J Black's is no contest really.
Brofski 06-19-2007, 05:54 AM I'm so ahead of my time, my parents haven't met yet
even though that makes no sense, wouldnt it be behind time not ahead
How does it not make sense???
He's so ahead of his time, that his parents still havn't met, had sex and his mother given birth to him.
How the fuck does that not make sense. How would it be behind?
Lol @ you trying to expose a punch you thought was dumb, but the fact is that you simply don't get it.
Ama-gi 06-19-2007, 07:03 AM Pharoahe Monch on Talib Kweli's Guerilla Monsoon Rap
Andre 3000 on anything
Cee-Lo on anything
not really anybody's track, but Grafh on Kay Slay's New Jack City ft. Posta Boy, Shells, J-Hood, & Grafh
Laking 86er 06-19-2007, 03:28 PM On the Diamonds remix Jay-Z murders Kanye.
Now way, Kayne shows good emotion in that track...Its sick. Jay-z goes off topic.
Alan Johnson 06-19-2007, 09:22 PM Young Buck - Stomp
Ludacris murdered T.I. Game and Buck
Devils Advocate 06-19-2007, 11:00 PM How did no one name the 7 Minute Freestyle which is not only one of Big L's sickest songs and one of the sickest freestyles period, but he completely shits on Jay-Z's trashy ass verses. Makes him look straight retarded.
If you believe Big L outclassed Jay-Z on that freestyle, that is fine by me, but to try to pretend that Jay-Z's entire freestyle was subpar is ridiculous.
"The shit is eternal, I rock the Heavens well
Even if they won't let me in Heaven
I raise hell, till its Heaven
Recognize, the black cat with the nine lives
Get up off me, nigga, its bad luck to cross me
I'm poppin Crystal, shooting game like missiles
As projected, all ho's affected by this style
I mack like Goldie, go back like the oldies
But the goody, pullin R&B bitches wearin hoodies
They don't be knowin the way I be flowin
When I be goin, I be running the track like Jesse Owens
I disrupt the natural scheme
The way that you do things wit a swing and have em rockin like…
You say never you run, if ever you come
It's never you run so fast in your life to never have won
Come on and ride the rhythm
I be producing like jizm
Just like the gods I start with knowledge and follow with wisdom
For greater understanding
I'm landing blows and
Knocking sense into those that oppose me, ha
Enticin when slicing through tracks
Your screaming, "Jesus Christ," he's back
And God knows he can rap
Me and L put rhythm on the map
So give him his dap
And me, I just take mine
Gimme those, gimme this, gimme that, fuck that
You never see me stressed, in a GS
On the prize, my greedy eyes can't see no less
Jigga incredible
Even my thoughts is federal
Like kidnapping, extortion and corruption
So you know, beatin me will never come
Like a nun or tomorrow, I'm too thorough, nigga
I make moves, cause bowels to move
When I'm creeping through your hood with a thousand little dudes
Um. We're the peace like Islam
I make your eyes rise like yeast
Surprise, I feel no fear when facing y'all
Betcha lyrics jump off the track like racing cars
Emcee's trying to be the best
And even in dying, couldn't be this def (death)
I see no reason to stop cheesin
Ever since L said "Throw three g's in"
And we can get down and split the wealth
That's when I found I could do it myself" -- Jay-Z
Red Gone Wyld 06-19-2007, 11:09 PM Recognize, the black cat with the nine lives
Get up off me, nigga, its bad luck to cross me
that line is lava
Nickel 06-20-2007, 11:43 AM ^^^anybody who says Jay-Z's vers on the 7 Minute freestyle is subpar.....plz go kill urself
Brofski 06-20-2007, 12:21 PM Even if they won't let me in Heaven
I raise hell, till its Heaven
Love that......
When I first heard that my jaw just droppee
Don't know if it's been mentioned but Freddie Foxxx killed it on The Militia

Nickel 06-20-2007, 03:32 PM ^^^yea man...that heaven hell line was so dope...i rewinded it twice at that point
