Lil Wayne Gets New Sentencing Date
Lil Wayne has been given a third sentencing date for a 2007 gun charge, after a fire in a New York courthouse postponed the sentencing yesterday (March 2). The rapper was scheduled to be sentenced to a one-year prison term for attempted possession of a weapon, after he pleaded guilty to the gun charge in October. Judge Charles H. Solomon was supposed to sentence the rapper to prison on February 9th, but he postponed the sentencing so Lil Wayne could have dental work done. Judge Solomon rescheduled the date for March 2, but a fire broke out in the basement of the courthouse yesterday. Over 1,000 people were forced to evacuate the building, which was shut down for the day after eight people, including five firefighters were treated for injuries. According to TMZ.com, Lil Wayne will be sentenced to prison on Monday (March 8).
