Israelis teens have found a way to express themselves in the middle of bomb attacks and failed peace attempts. Hip Hop.

'We need something that will encourage us.'

Israeli Hip hop artists until now operated on the margins of mainstream Israeli music which has generally been a mix of a Hebrew-language rock and Mediterannean crooning. But when hopes for Israeli-Arab peace disintegrated three years ago amid a violent Palestinian uprising rappers such as Subliminal moved beyond schoolyard party lyrics to rail about the turbulence overwhelming the country.

'With hip hop Israeli rappers get a chance to offfer their own narrative current events, which make the music a kind of CNN of the people.'

Subliminal ,the most famous Israeli rapper, is accused by many of being militarist and using rap for spreading to youth right-wing believes.

For it he says ' In America rap is the fastest way to get rich', 'To talk about the bitches,the car and money . In Israel the words are very militant, like the situation we are living in.You open the newspaper in the morning in Israel and this is what you get.'

Record companies following the trend and invest on new talents, under political scrunity though. Record executives say they judge new talent on the manifesto as much as the music because politics has become an inseparable ingredient of the genre.

When i read this story One thing urged me to think. So many young people dying all over the world for fucking assholes like Bush j. or for a piece of land as if they were living in a f@@@ western movie.

come on kid-thinking persons, i posted this news so that we can discuss about that some youth, the particular are just an example, living with the fear of getting killed try to voice their reaction to the events happening around them via hip hop. That record companies again becoming gatekeepers and choose who and what is going to be wide-spreaded.
Hip hop gains more and more political importance and you comment stupidly.

Its not a popularity contest of countries.

Again, Its all looked upon as if its all palestinian's fault..

There are a lot of palestinian emcee's out there aswell.. i have heard some of their stuff and they have got really good and complex lyrics, they make their own beats and everything. Instead of talking about violence and stuff they talk about peace and their religion.. listen to them @ www.muslimstudios.com - their band name is Soldiers of Allah
